Joffrey's expression changed after hearing this question since he did not like what his mother decided. Plus, he was the king, and he should be the one to make those decisions and not his mother, who put her nose in everything without returning to him first.
As for Petyr, who saw the change on Joffrey's face, he could not help but smile deep down since he knew that things would be a lot easier from this moment. He would have Joffrey by his side, and all they had to do was waiting for the right timing before killing Ned Stark.
"I heard." Said Joffrey, who did not seem happy at all after saying those words.
"I take it that you don't like that, your grace." Said Petyr as he looked at Joffrey, trying to confirm his doubts. Although he saw how Joffrey did not like that decision, he would not jump to tell him the plan right away like that. If Joffrey told his mother about what Baelish suggested, Petyr would find his head hanged instead of Ned Stark's.
"No one would like to see a traitor live. I wish I could have his head on spike while Sansa watches her dear father die like that." Said Joffrey with a more annoying voice.
Joffrey could not change this decision. His mother told him if he wanted to be the king and sit on that Iron Throne as he pleased, he had to get Ned Stark's confession. Without it, many would claim that he was a bastard and try taking the throne from him. That was why he bore with it all this time without saying a word.
"Well, I have something to help you with that, your grace. If you allowed me to say." Said Petyr as he looked at Joffrey with a smile on his face. Petyr got more pleased with himself after seeing that his schemes would work and achieve the results he wanted to see.
"Say it." Said Joffrey as he could not wait to hear what he could do to kill Ned Stark and humiliate his fiancee, Sansa Stark. Joffrey wanted to see the look of despair in her eyes after he ordered the men to behead her father.
"Well, you see, your grace..." Said Petyr Baelish with a smile on his face as he continued to explain what Joffrey should do with Ned Stark after his confession, fucking up everything that Cersei had planned for her son just like that.
Petyr took nearly an hour to explain everything to Joffrey, and when he saw Joffrey nod time after time and smiling from an ear to the other, Petyr could not help but smile in his heart for having this foolish kid by his side. He would like to see the look on Ned Stark after he sullied his honor that he protected all his life and still got nothing but his head hanged in the end.
Petyr would make sure that his smile would be the last thing that Ned Stark saw in his life before dying. He would hold Ned Stark's daughter in his hands while the man took his last breath in this world. That would make Ned Stark suffer, even in his death. Petyr Baelish was much crueler in this timeline and wished nothing more than killing those who had humiliated him before.
Four days after Petyr's conversation with Joffrey, the day when Ned Stark would confess his crimes finally came. The Smallfolks in King's Landing had gathered to witness what would happen, and they could see the honorable, Ned Stark, being dragged in chains while walking towards the sept of Baelor accompanied by the Lannister soldiers on his sides.
Everything went as Cersei prepared at first, making her smile all the time, and Ned Stark started to confess his crimes while his heart hurt a lot for betraying his friend like that. But when he looked at his daughter, Sansa, and saw how naive she was as she was only nodding her head telling him to go on without realizing anything, Ned Stark steeled his heart and went on with everything Cersei prepared.
When Ned Stark finished his speech, the Smallfolks started throwing stones and everything in their hands at the man, injuring him by doing that after the words of the grandmaester, Pycelle.
As for Sansa, her heart hurt her for seeing her father in this situation, but she thought that it was the only way if she wanted to marry the king and become the queen.
At this moment, Cersei and everyone else looked at Joffrey, waiting for his orders after Pycelle asked him what they should do with that traitor. The Smallfolks shouted and asked the king to kill the man that betrayed him like that.
As for Cersei, she did not find anything wrong with the situation. She practiced with Joffrey everything he should do and say after hearing this question. She was sure that everything would go as she planned.
Only one person was smiling from ear to ear as he looked at Ned Stark, who had some hope in his eyes after getting through all this humiliation. At this time, Petyr took the situation to his favor as he tried to move near Sansa Stark to take her in his hands.
Petyr did not want her to feel sad when he was with her and promised to open his arms for the girl to cry as she pleased. He would not forget to look at Ned Stark and smirk at his face at that time.
At this time, Joffrey finally opened his mouth and started talking, taking everyone by surprise, especially his mother, who thought she had some control over her son and the seven kingdoms. But Joffrey's following words shattered her mind and destroyed her dreams.
"My mother wishes me to let Lord Eddard join the Night's Watch, strip him from all titles and powers to serve the realm in permanent exile. And my lady Sansa has begged mercy for her father. But they have the soft hearts of women, so as long as I am your king, treason should never go unpunished. Ser Ilyn, bring me his head." Said Joffrey as he looked at Ser Ilyn Payne at the end of his speech, frightening everyone present without any care.
After saying those words, he did not forget to look at Petyr Baelish standing behind Sansa Stark. Petyr was smiling at him for making this decision and could help but nod his head to the young Joffrey.
Cersei, who got surprised after hearing her son's words that ignored everything that she told him to do, saw this interaction and knew that Baelish had something to do with this, but she did not have the time to punish that annoying brick. She had to persuade her son against what he said, or everything would fall apart.
