Chapter Five (5)

At that sort of age, it becomes a celebration of life since they had lived a long life and were finally going to rest in the afterlife. People whose religions have a form of heaven shouldn't even be that worried about what the person is going to enjoy in the next life. Well Grandma's death was unfortunate but she died with a smile just like Grandpa and we all accept their death but yeah, I ain't doing that shit again. For the last three years, I have spiked every water source in the family with little amounts of Immortal Elixir.

In simpler terms, Mom now looks like she was in her 20s and probably already immortal. I don't need her permission for this, she ain't dying on me not in this life or the next. If she dies then I'm going straight to either heaven or hell to get her soul back and I don't care if it's held by Dormanmu or by The One Above All himself. We would definitely fight it out. The little amounts of Immortal elixir worked wonders on mom as it returned her to her youth and also enhanced her beauty even further. If I didn't know of the extra side effects of it enhancing your physical body a bit, I would have insisted on accompanying her everywhere.

The Immortal Elixir seemed to not only give you immortality but it also further refines your body taking it to peak form so my best guess is that Mom is probably on par with a super soldier. That also leads back to myself, the Primagen crystal I ate some years back seemed to have really done wonders to my physique in the sense that I can't get sick, I don't need to eat, sleep or even drink water. Basically the crystal granted me complete self sustenance and as for how I know, let's just say that I haven't slept in months to a year now and I still feel fine.

I am just thirteen and actually looked my age without any bulging muscles, just a well defined physique that looked like it was molded for perfection but despite my slim build, I can lift up to 5 tons…. Well that's my limit actually but that is a lot. Your average elephant weighs that much, I can lift an RV and throw it at anyone I don't like, that is a lot of strength for a thirteen year old but that isn't all. Unlike the terragen crystals or mists which target a particular trait in humans and amplifies it, the Primagen crystal amplifies everything from your intellect to your stomach.

Kree went from their normal unevolved state to the Kree we know today within just a period of a few hundred years was only because of the Primagen crystals. The crystals evolved their entire being thus making them the very best they could be thus raising the initially cave Kree into super beings that were on par with super soldiers and more. Of course things get even better when you remember that the Progenitors considered the Krees a failure.

Imagine when a race that has enhanced intellect, speed, strength and agility is considered a failure. Humans were already optimised to be extremely adaptable by the Celestials both directly and indirectly, they experimented on ancient humans which created the Deviants and the Eternals but there were some that also didn't gain any powers and here we are. Also a celestial died here on Earth and his 'blood' granted humans the possibility to awaken what we know today as the X-gene. Taking the Primagen crystal just made me as perfect as a human can be. I possessed intellect that I don't even know how to quantify, enhanced running speed, agility that was through the roof. Amazing hand to eye coordination and probably enhanced durability… oh and I am immortal.

That wasn't from the Primagen though it did increase my lifespan by a lot. The immortality came from the Elixir, wait now that I think of it. Maybe my ridiculous power set is because my body possessed a mixture of Primagen and Elixir. I don't know exactly what was the cause of my physique but I did not care because it didn't affect me negatively.

"James what are you still doing, you would be late for school!!!" Mom shouted from the kitchen

"I'm coming, just finishing my design" I shouted in reply.

School, the only downside to my existence at the moment. As someone who was nearly done with college, returning back to middle and high school can be extremely annoying. I have to put up with the nonsensical rambling of children who don't even know how a fan works. I enjoy returning to being a child and all but being around other kids is extremely annoying. They can become extremely attached to you just for being nice to them, they would cling to you like a magnet on metal until you agree to play with them which is definitely something I don't want.

School work just served more as to refresh my memories of the things I had done and also to let me point out the difference between our universe and the Marvel Universe. The Laws of Physics and Chemistry were similar in the two but there were also differences between the two. With my enhanced intellect, getting good grades was as simple as me trying, I possessed a good memory thus allowing me to always remember things and at the same time, my ability to understand whatever they threw at me was just something else so school was easy, the only hard part was navigating through the people at school.

Stopping what I was doing, I picked up my school bag and ran downstairs to meet my mother. Arriving in the kitchen, I saw her sitting on a stool facing the kitchen counter as she ate, getting ready for work. Mom and I had the entire house to ourselves now due to the fact that the rest of the family has either married off and moved in with their husbands or just moved away from the house…. And there was also the fact that Grandma left the house in Mom's name so we at least had shelter over our heads because with mom's poor income then we would never be able to afford a house or an apartment with as much space as the house.
