Xie Xinghe waited for Li Xingchen by the door. When he heard his wife's voice, his scarred face softened up into an unusual gentle expression.

After Li Xingchen and Xie Xinghe left in their car, Wu Tong then went back into the house.

In the car, Li Xingchen briefly went through the bag of items that her mother had handed to her before she tossed them onto the space in the backseat.

As she paid attention to the road, she then realized that they were not taking the usual route home.

"Xinghe, where are we heading to?" she asked, confused.

When they came to a stop, Xie Xinghe turned and moved closer.

"You…," he whispered to her ear. Li Xingchen stuttered, and her cheeks blushed.

Xie Xinghe then held her hand with his free hand and cooed, "Dear, I love you."

Lowering her head, Li Xingchen stared at their interlocked fingers and murmured, "I love you, too."
