Onicent felt a void of energy. The slash on his back was deeper then he thought possible. He saw just barely Sonnis approaching and stared at her defiantly.
If only he had a bit more left within him.
"I have been waiting for this," Sonnis said darkly, "and now-"
She was knocked off her feet with a blur of green motion.
Onicent fell flat to the floor as the hall was filled with yelling.
"Come one love," Ilodeena said, sounding suddenly frightened. He listened to their retreating footsteps, extremely confused.
That was when Onicent sensed another person in the room.
"Fairly close, wasn't it?" It was a voice Onicent knew well.
Onicent groaned slightly, "is that you Maiguh?"
"Oh, don't act so surprised."
Onicent finally began to raise his head and saw the green girl who was technically his daughter. Her face was pinched in an annoyed expression.
Onicent felt extremely confused and light headed.
"He slashed you pretty well," Maiguh said, he had come over and was leaning over Onicent.
"I'm fine," Onicent snapped. He tried to rise to his feet, ignoring Maiguh's out stretched hand.
Immediately he stumbled back down.
"I would take it easy, dad," Elsbeth said the last word with distain.
She was bending over Rissa. Rissa stirred feebly.
Luckily for them in that moment Dio came in. He seemed rather taken aback by the scene before him.
"Potions," Onicent croaked.
Dio nodded and ran off.
Somewhat unhappily Onicent allowed Maiguh to help him to his throne. Elsbeth stood over Rissa, who didn't want to move. That was when the Enderman came in, Sonnis was held between them, thrashing and trying to escape.
The Enderman explained to Maiguh that the other two had escaped barely, but they had, with combined effort, brought this one back.
Maiguh thanked them.
"How, might I ask, did you come to here?" Onicent asked him.
"The Enderman saw Airabella."
Another flash of pain on Onicent's face.
"Did they see what became of her?"
Maiguh shook his head. "We came as soon as we could. Just in time really, from the looks of it."
Onicent grumbled slightly.
"May I remind you, without us you would likely be in pieces?" Elsbeth added. "I think perhaps some gratitude is in order."
That was when Sonnis started to speak again, "let me go!"
Onicent sighed slightly, "I know what you are thinking. I am sure your help is needed elsewhere, I will deal with this." His voice was dismissive. He made a faint motion towards Sonnis.
"Where is my son!" Sonnis yelled at Onicent.
"Don't.. Punish.. her." Rissa said.
That was when Dio returned with the potions. He didn't even look at Sonnis, so focused on Rissa and Onicent. But Sonnis saw him, the blue in his skin and the same slightly pinched face.
She shuddered slightly.
Maiguh looked between and shook his head. "I would suggest that we do not punish her, rather I think she could use a bit of time to figure out what has happened. Sonnis."
She looked at him, "Maiguh." She said in a lighter tone. She remembered he had been kind to her. "Don't get mixed up in this!"
"The Enderdragon, the one you are following I am sure, is using you Sonnis. Even now I am sure, he is attacking your family under the sea." Maiguh told her.
"He wouldn't," she insisted. She looked back to the boy who had now looked up at her.
"You are my mother?" He asked quietly.
"Yes, what is your name?"
"Dio," he replied.
She smiled slightly. The hate faded out of her eyes.
