Chapter 40 - Fluttering Butterfly

Clive sighed and stepped closer to Mina. taking a look back he finally opened the testube with that moon rock in it.

the moon rock flew on it's own towards Mina. as soon as it touched her skin the stone melted into her skin. soon the blue glow on her intensified.

It was too blinding. Everyone shielded their eyes until the glowing stopped.

Reya and momma jade rushed over to her and held her hands. "Mina...baby?" momma jade whispered softly.

Mina's fingers slowly moved.

Clive noticed this and ran over he told everyone to stand aside and torched her eyes. there was pupil response. "She has come to. people stay back," he went over to the ECG machine and took her heart rate. it was normal and there was no issues.

"She's good," he said cheerfully. But still he did a thorough check up on her. "Her lymp nodes below her armpit is swollen. I still need to do a lymph node biopsy can you guys clear the room," he whispered.

Reya and momma Jade, They both quickly cleared the room. So Clive could do the job.

Clive as well did a lot of testing on her. And found out Mina was completely healthy. Her lymph nodes were being cleared or cleaned by those mysterious little rocks. It was astonishing for him. A medical miracle, so to say.

Mina woke up in the middle of testing. "where am I?" she whispered.

Clive assured her that she was in his house and that she was completely safe.

Mina peered at him. "peanut butter man? Where is my sister? Mom?" She muttered in a dazed state.

"They are all waiting outside. After a few poking and prodding you will be able to eet them," Ckive cheerfully said.

Mina moaned she could feel teh weird power in her reduce substantially after her outburst. "Did I hurt myself?" she whispered with confusion.

As her caretaker Ckive stepped closer and held her hand. "Mona you e to listen to me carefully. Thsi mysterious power....it is healing you. if you use if too much then you will get sick again,"

She nodded. Teh also thing she remembered was her sister's panicking face. Teh situation thsi time might have been severe for her sister to panic so much.

After doing a lot of testing. Only then did he let Ray and her mother, Mama Jade inside. Momma jade rushed inside and hugged her daughter Mina tightly. Oh my baby I hope she gets Better soon. She cried.

Meanwhile Clive called Reya aside. He showed her all the reports and sighed. "IT looks like she is healthy,"

"But..." Reya whispered anxiously.

"But I fear teh power might not be in effect for a long time," Clive handed her a small report of her sister's lymp nodes and explained. "her lymp nodes are being healed by this rock. But I could sense a lower level of that mysterious rock in her  blood,"

"You mean teh rocks are becoming less effective," Reya whispered with her eyes wide oopen.

Clive sighed again and held her shoulders. "The rocks will become ineffective. By then we need to find a cure for her cancer otherwise..."

Reya understood his implied meaning. Her sister will die when teh rocks lose their power. And by then if Clive had not found any cure.....Mina would be beyond redemption.

She held her aching head and sat silently near the window. She gazed out at the ruined city and whispered, "is this all God's plan? Why should my sister go through so much hardship? She is just a child," she cried.

As if answering her desperate cry a small transparent butterfly flew inside and landed on her palm. It fluttered its beautiful wings dusting off blue shimmer from its body.

Reya was astonished. Butterflies dont shimmer. Then what was it that was quietly sitting on her hand. She softly held a finger in front of it.

The butterfly fluttered and landed on her fingers.

Reya sighed softly and wiped her tears away. Crying never helps. She needed to be calm for her mother and sister. "Are you the answer to my calls? Are you my salvation?" she muttered.

The butterfly fluttered as if answering her.

"You are an incredible species little one." She gazed back at the Clive and whispered, so don't come here, that man there might try to hurt you,"

It was a new species after all. And the mad scientist Cliev would be very much interested in collecting it.

Butterfly fluttered down and landed on the window sill. It started twirling around and around dragging its little feets on the cold ssurface.

Reya watched it with fascination. The butterfly was dancing for her. "Cutie are you dancing for me?" she whispered.

The butterfly flew over to her finger again and fluttered back to the window sill. On the rim of the sill there was a mysterious symbol shimmering blue.

Blue just like this cute little butterfly.
