Chapter 44 – Day Out

After Kytotaka replied to me, I showered, then changed myself into something acceptable; jeans, a t-shirt and a hoodie over it, as it was quite cold outside.

My hoodie was one of my favourites, really, it was a completely black one with a big white, mustache on it, it was limited edition Knockout merch.

Surprised there is Knockout merch? Nothing surprising really, I, even though I was technically a criminal, was still extremely popular, as I stopped to many villains to count and saved even more people.

Sadly, I didn't make a yen of all my merch, but it didn't really matter at this point, I was already filthy rich.

.

After I was sure I looked decent, I simply headed to the private beach where we usually met.

When I got there, as I chose to walk instead of directly warping there, I saw that Kyotaka was already there, it was one of the first time she got there before me.

She was wearing quite skinny jeans and a silvery coat, which really paired well with her silver hair and green eyes. She was quite stunning if you asked me.

When she saw me, she immediately waved, smiling brightly, and so, I obliged and power walked toward her, and found myself also smiling.

"Hey! You didn't tell me you were going to take down the number two hero yesterday, I would've wanted to see the fight…" She said, pouting slightly…and very cutely.

"Well, it was a really destructive fight, I wouldn't've wanted you to be injured by the crossfire or something…And I have my own recording of it if you really want." I answered, taking a USB key out of my pocket.

It was a recording from my own point of view, from a camera on my helmet that I had made specifically for her, as I knew she would be overjoyed if she had it.

And it looks like I was right, I saw stars in Kyotaka's eyes when I said that and she instantly forgot the fake anger she had, immediately said.

"What! Thank you so much!"

I gave her the recordings and she started smiling uncontrollably, beaming even and I would be lying if I said that it had no effects on me.

We then started walking and discussing my fight against Endeavor, Kyotaka wanted to know everything but I guessed it was normal, you couldn't find people who could annihilate Endeavor in less than two minutes very easily.

I happily satisfied her curiosity and soon, we found ourselves in front of my favourite ramen stand, the same one I went to with Kyotaka after her entrance exam. It would nearly be midday and neither of us had eaten, so it was the perfect opportunity.

Each time I went there, it still surprised me how good the food was and how lucky I was to have discovered this restaurant, as I had found it completely by luck.

It was a simply story, really, when I was younger and still had trouble using Quirk Vision, I often used it on random people to practice, and one day I had discovered someone with the most powerful cooking quirk I had ever seen, and decided to follow him. I found out he had a restaurant, this one, so I ate here for the first time and fell in love with his food.

"So, how do you find U.A. so far? Have you made any friends? I asked Kyotaka after we ordered our dishes.

I really hoped she had made friends I'm pretty sire she had, but I was not certain, I didn't spy on her after all. Yes, I obviously didn't spy on her private life, it would be very disrespectful, the only persons I was actively "spying on" were my parents and they knew it.

"Well, yeah, I made some friends, there's this girl, Kyoka, who has kind of a sound quirk and really is funny! And there's also Momo, she's also very fun to be around, though a little oblivious sometimes, but it's still fun." She happily said.

"And U.A.'s well, what I had expected, a hero school. Though easier than I thought it would be, but I guess you really did train me like hell for close to a year, so it was expected. Still, my teamwork is way better than before."

"But you, how's being a teacher, must be weird to teach people older than you? And have you met the Big Three, apparently they're stronger than most pro-heroes. How powerful are they exactly," Kyotaka then asked me.

"Well, the three together could give Endeavor a run for his money, probably even beating him. They individualy are as powerful as heroes in the top ten, I'd say, but Mirio is in another league of his own. And before you ask, they could quite easily beat you, but I'm confident that, if you keep training, you'll overtake them".

The big three really were powerful, especially for students, but I guess U.A. isn't any school. Also, they were particularly fun to teach to and will become really good heroes in the future.

"That powerful? Damn, I have to train more…"

.

We continued our conversation for a while after this, talking about pretty much anything, and, when we had finished eating, we went to the mall.

I very rarely went to the mall, I ordered most of my stuff online, so it was quite strange to see shops with Knockout merch on the front row, beside All Might and Hawk merch as if I was a top hero.

Also, there was a big, but controlled fire where all the stores just straight up burned their Endeavor merchandise, it sent a message, people didn't really considered Endeavor a hero anymore.

Still, Kyotaka made fun of me each time I made a weird face when I saw a piece of particularly strange or "special" Knockout themed object. Some of the more 'extreme' ones were going to haunt me for days…

After a while of her teasing me, I wanted my revenge and bought her a something I questioned myself why it even existed… A life-sized Knockout plush. A six-foot-tall monstrosity, I hoped it would at least embarrass her.

It didn't.

My plan completely failed, to say the least… She even seemed really happy with my "gift" and kept hugging it.

I think she may've misunderstood my intentions and now, people kept looking weird at us…

Well, Kyotaka really seemed to like the plush so…

I guess it was worth it in the end.

She unexpectedly hugged me as thanks, before she became beet red and looked shyly at the ground, and it suddenly made it more than worth it, to have gifted her the plush, I should to that more often.

I would be lying if I said it made me feel nothing and my face may (or may not) became a little bit red when se hugged me without any warning.

The rest of the day continued normally, we went to the movie theater not long after to see a new movie, a comedy, that had just released. The movie was excellent, the best movie I had seen in years, although that was maybe because I watched very few movies. It was still very good.

After the movie, it was getting pretty late. I would've loved to continue hanging out with her, but I had a meeting concerning Knockout tonight, so after hanging around a little more, I accompanied Kyotaka back to her house, though more by principle than anything as she was more than capable of defending herself.

"Thank you for today Raiko, I had a lot of fun." Kyotaka said as we neared her home.

"I also had a lot of fun, it had been a long time since I did something like this, and I really needed it so thank you too," I earnestly spoke, and it was true.

I felt much "lighter" and better than at the start of the day, it had removed a weight from my shoulders that I didn't even know existed. Today, for the first time in ages, I wasn't Knockout, Shuzenji-sensei, or Shuzenji the Analyst, but simple Raiko, a normal fifteen-year-old teen, and I really liked it.

Before long, she walked away from me, as her house was up ahead, but before entering her home, she shouted:

"Good night Raiko!"

"Good Night Taka!" I quickly replied.

The first time I had called her by this nickname, it was an accident, but now I was purely calling her that to mess with her and see her reaction, it was quite cute to see her blush because I called her by a nickname.

And that's exactly what happened, she blushed a bit and quickly entered her house.

100% worth it.

FLUFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Hoped you liked it.

The romance won't be that slow really, I just don't want to rush (and possibly ruin) it.

And worry not, no drama here.
