Through the pages

We got inside his car and he drove. On the way I decided to take a peek at it and read to see if I found anything relevant. After scouring a lot I finally found a page where I saw a weird disfigured doodle accompanying which there was written 'The Devil'.

"Found it" I muttered.

"Ecthra"? Jeremy, who heard what I said, asked me.

"No, Devils". I sighed.

"Which page are you in"? He asked me.

"249"

"You are done till 249 already? It's hardly been twenty minutes. How"? He asked with doubt.

"I was just looking for something devil unlike you, who read everything much more intently for any clue". I retaliated. 

"Makes sense". He sighed. "What does it say"? He asked me.

"Well, let me read it". I said out loud.

"Just read out loud". Jeremy asked me when I was quiet for a few seconds because I was focusing deeply on the script.

"Alright". I took a deep breath before I began reading it out loud.
