Battle goes on Part 1

The night was blazed with fire and volleys of arrows, skirmishes were gruesome. Blood stains would be seen on the ground, the smell of blood would be lingering and the sweat would also be seen through the faces of the people who fought. And the smell of the smoke that is going through the air.

It was unpleasant to see bodies lying on the ground. The dirt and the blood would flow down the river. As arrows pierce through their heads and bodies. Some bodies would be torn away from the main body.

"GIVE ME MORE QUIVERS HERE! I NEED MORE GUNPOWDER HERE!" Artirian shouted as he put some bandage around his arm. The bleeding would stop mildly but the volley of arrows that coming from the enemy are not.

The battle became heavy and also intense the surroundings became bloody as the smoke filled the air. Volleys of arrows and screams can be heard. The towers keep firing back to the enemies.The horse would neigh as the soldiers shouts because of the pain. The conscript would bring Artirian some 4 more quivers to return fire from enemy archers.

Artirian looked at his hands as he would see the dirt and blood mix, He asked himself if this is really war or a plathing between officials With a gloomy look he said whispering "war I hated it but I don't like to compromise and I want to fight for what is right".

Rommel would get hit by an arrow on his shoulder he would then fall on the ground. Artirian would see Rommel bleeding so he shouted for a medic. Artirian would then grab a piece of cloth that he tore from his uniform and wrap it around at Rommel's arm. Romel would be gasping for air and also forcefully closing his eyes to remove the pain he is feeling.

After waiting for 6 hours Arthur came with a battalion of conscripts numbering to 300. He brought them to the fortification as per the Garrison Commander orders. To help and stabilize the dwindling number of the passagawat fortification. Artirian would be glad to see Arthur alive; Artirian uniform of prestige is now covered in blood,dirt and sweat; his cap was nowhere to be found. His uniform looks untidy and his face was full of bloodstains and some dirt.

Artirian would wave at Arthur as Artirian saw the new conscripts that looked like fresh meat. They look like out of the new drills and freshly recruited. Arthur said with a disappointed tone while he removed his cap "Those men are not yet drilled or even hold a musket or even hold a sword or pike before" Artirian would expect to see their scared faces once they reached the fortification. Arthur would look at the surroundings and he would see from the moment he left it became different. The place entirely changed It was so drastic he almost did not recognise it.

Some walls were destroyed already and some arrows have reached inside of the fortification. He then saw a makeshift medical house that was created. The barrack house was burned.

Many changed after the last 10 days he left the passageway fortification and as soon as he came back he saw all the changes he almost really did not recognize Artirian because of the dirt and blood.

Artirian would let the 300 move to the depot to make themselves have a few bit rest. As they can see blood everywhere and also the smell of smoke and burned ember is lingering through their noses. Few of them quickly adapted to the changes they have been sent to but some were not. A few of them would be vomiting at the corners of the fortification. Try to calm themselves as soon as possible.

The conscripts were able to use muskets but they are slow and easily pinned and lose morale. That is why I sent the hard veterans group leaders to fix the new conscripts so that if the other walls need reinforcements it will be added force not a pull down kind of force. The first 100 would be drilled for 4 days straight. The other 200 hundred would be dispersed in fixing and providing help for injured and or fixing the destroyed walls of bringing amo. But they are also constantly trained but on the soft side.

Artirian would notice the advancement of the Republican Army in the city and in the forest. It has been 2 weeks since they lay siege on Moon Scar and if they can't destroy us or to diminish the 1 first wall they can't win the Moon Scar City. Earlier this morning the Garrison Commander took the first wall and pushed the Republican forces. That is why Arthur was sent back to the passageway fortification.

Artirian POV

"This was almost a haggard look am I." as I asked one of the conscripts. The conscript replied with a smile. After that I headed towards the water and washed my face my cap got hit by an arrow and it almost hit my head. Hopefully I quickly put my head down. I guess we better use the muskets now, as we are almost running out of arrows to fire at the enemy.

"Rommel!" I shouted with my voice. Rommel would be laying on the ground trying to rest. And he would quickly stand up and head towards Artirian running as he then salutes before walking much closer to Artirian. "Ah yes Arti how can I help?" I replied with a smirk time to use the new weapons, pick 20 men you trust and we will give them the muskets. Rommel's eyes would spark and his hands would clasped as he can also use the new weapons.

I would look at him like a kid and laugh a bit as I know Rommel is also one of the best musket users I know in the whole unit. Second is Arthur. After Rommel assembled the 20 best people he knew I quickly gave them a brief of the musket. They already understand what to do that is why I kinda believe they are fast learners.

Soon I deployed them to the places which are heavily attacked by the enemy and those are the right wing of the fortification and also to the left wing both wings have 10 musket users. Soon I would hear the musket firing of the muskets and it was an orchestra in my ears.

Then I heard a loud explosion. It was the Right wing wall that was destroyed open.I almost drop on the ground because of the explosion after that I quickly run towards the right wing as I hurriedly run there were fights that have erupted clash between the 12th shock troop unit and some Republican forces and I would also see that the Republican forces are putting ladders to cross the river. To have them slowed a bit I would grab the musket and aim at the crossing conscript and would click the trigger making the musket fire and then it would hit the enemies head.

"WE NEED MORE PEOPLE HERE!" I shouted on top of my high pitch voice. Soon Arthur and some conscripts who use muskets would open fire while Rommel and the others would keep a distance so that they would not be a target for an open volley of archers. While that is happening some of the new conscripts would start digging a trench circle which would be able to back for so that when they enter the open wall they will get shot.
