Meeting Your Wolf

She tried not to stare at her reflection. Multiple scars and bruises are still visible, the Letter 'D' that Datu brand on her thigh formed a keloid. A few stretch marks on her hips and a pale thin body. She knew if she dared to look at her reflection again, she would like hear Datu's voice in her head saying,

'You're not worth keeping dear.'

'Look at you, no one wants to see that body of yours. It's disgusting!' 

For how many times Datu told her that while cutting her toes, she knows that Datu said it to break her self-esteem but she started believing it.

Kanisha looked away from the mirror, away from the sight of her reflection as she step into the shower, feeling the drops of water into her body.

She didn't want to spend a long time in the shower, not wanting to be late for the introduction. She scrubbed her body with the strawberry scented body wash she saw in the cabinet with the shampoo and conditioner next to it.
