This is getting old

This is getting old. I always write notes like this to warn you guys that I'm going on a hiatus.

As of currently, I've decided to put this fanfic in an indefinite hiatus. It's just tiring to see people complain about my previous failures, which is fine since it helps me grow as a writer, but it's just tiring. Always and always, readers would share their complaints on how bad this and that.

I especially dreaded seeing paragraph comments from the earlier chapters because I know that they are completely shit.

Maybe it's depression kicking in? I don't know, maybe I'm not depressed. Maybe I'm just stressed, worried about my future, or anything like that.

Hey, why not all of them?

I know all of you reading this have many problems in your life, so I know you know how I feel since I'm just a teen.

I've been exposed to the horrible nature of this world since I was a child. Hypocrisy is present everywhere, lies, and many, many more. I don't know if some of you ever had the experience of walking miles every single day while carrying a basket full of products that was made for you to sell, but it's tough out there. No one would care even if you're covered in rain as you try to at least sell one more, asking every stranger you see. Cars would passed by you, people would ignore you, and then there would be at least one person compassionate enough to give you a towel to wipe yourself but you would reject it for the fear of something you don't know.

I just feel so stressed, forgive me for complaining too much.

I don't know what I'm complaining about, I have a pretty good roof on top of me, a bed to sleep on, and is able to eat three times or more a day.

Maybe I'm just a fool? I don't know.

Anyway, I'm writing a new one, an original novel, so if you care much to see it, I'll post it after I've written at least 30 chapters. Maybe it will take me a month? I don't know, but as always, thank you for reading this far.

(This is the new book I'm going to write. This is the third chapter, I'm not going to post it yet since I'm slowly writing more chapters so that I don't have to stressed over this whenever I can't write. Also this hasn't been edited)

(The Next Day)

*BANG!* *BANG!*

Akira was woken up by someone hitting the metal bars with their weapon, the furry person that he deemed as the guard of this cell just in the previous night.

He groggily sat up to see someone looking down on him with their spear pointed at his head.

"If you don't get up, I'll behead you!" This person also has two brown furry ears protruding on top of his head and a furry tail slowly waving behind him, but he was different than the other earlier this night. He wore leather armor and a helmet, two brown eyes and a face with a scar on his left cheek. The guard glared at him with intense disgust.

Akira concluded that he shouldn't talk right now and just follow this guy's order. He needed to see what kind of place he was in. Even though he is not that smart, he is not stupid. He saw the malnourished blonde boy outside being kicked down by another guard along with other children.

If he estimated correctly, he is the same age as those children currently.

"Move faster!" The guard picked him up, surprising him, and threw him outside of this supposedly cell.

He felt pain all over his body, but he managed to have a quick look to where he was. He seems to be in an underground base, a long hallway stretched for over a few kilometers when he looked in both directions. Countless cells were also built in this place. The hallway was only dimly lit by torches.

He stood up and followed what the other children were doing, lining up. There must be around a hundred children here already, most of them were at the age of 6 to 12. They all looked malnourished and weak, but the dozen or so guards showed no mercy when kicking them down. The furry guards, as he dubbed them, were laughing as they saw one kid throw up, but instead of barf, it was blood.

He remembered that he had this status screen, maybe he can see other people's status screens also?

He glanced at one guard real fast and squinted his eyes real hard to see his stats.

_____________

[Name: Joseph]

[Age: 34]

[Job Class: Spearman]

[Level: 5]

[Stats]

[Strength – 12]

[Endurance – 8]

[Mana Points – 0]

[Fighting Skills – 6]

He looked around more secretly as to not gather any attention, and realized they were all at the same level. In his stats, he still has 5 unused stat points. If, by chance, that in every level, they gave 5 stat points, wouldn't he be able to beat them once he's Level 5? Now, that's something he can look forward to.

But he has to take a realistic approach, there must be someone stronger than these furry guards around here. Maybe they have a leader? If so, how strong are they?

He looked around more, only to see the despaired faces of every child he looked at. They all had sunken eyes and bruised bodies, making it hard to look at them further.

Most of them had western features, while some were more eastern like.

'Is this their reality?' He thought.

He didn't like seeing this. He didn't like children being treated like this. But he also thought of these "demi-humans" as that voice recording said. He knew of them, why? Because he has read hundreds of those isekai stories, so it would be hard not to know about them.

But right now, they don't matter. These demi-humans don't matter for now, he needed to escape this place. He wanted to take these children with him, but they're all going to die if that happens.

'Heh, why am I thinking like this? I didn't know that I was a righteous person.' He thought, being sardonic towards himself.

Bah, whatever happens, happens!

He needs to adapt immediately, if he doesn't, he is going to die, Lucifer or not.

He followed the guards' barking orders obediently, trying not to gather attention towards himself.

He saw them pick up other children from those cells. Some of them tried fighting back, mostly the younger ones, but they were all kicked away by those furry guards. He didn't like that, but he had to stay calm. He has just arrived in this unknown world, he needs as much information as he needs.

That unknown voice recording told him that he was once Lucifer and he was the one who made this world like this. Demi-Humans rules this world, just like how humans once did. He doesn't know the full story, because the voice seems to be quite vague, but if this is his fault, he should fix it, right?

He couldn't help but feel rage bubbling inside him as he saw children without some of their limbs. Some of them even had both of their arms cut off, and the guards just laughed at the disabled children as they stumbled around, then they would just hit them with either of their fist or leg.

'This is getting out of hand. Does this happen often?' He thought.

When they finally reached the end of the underground hallway, he saw light coming on top of the ladder.

"You worthless pieces of shit, climb up this ladder, right now!" One of the guards yelled at the children.

They complied.

When it was Akira's turn to climb up the ladders, he felt someone pull him back. He was about to shout "What the hell?" But he saw one of the guards swinging his spear towards his previous spot.

'I could've died!' Akira thought, now scared. He felt thankful to whoever pulled him back.

"Be careful… whenever… you are… near them. They'll… hurt you." He heard someone whisper to his ear. Their voice sounded so dry, they were barely able to finish their sentence.

"Thanks." Akira whispered back.

"Huh? Would've been fun to see your head rolling! Hahahaha!" The one who almost killed him laughed.

He felt his anger bubbling inside him, but he calmed himself down. Being angry right now has no use, he'll use it the moment he escapes.

He finally managed to climb up the ladder up to the surface, but all he could see was a rocky land that stretches as far as the eyes can see. There were numerous ores everywhere, which was weird since why the hell are they all on the surface instead of the underground? He looked at his left, only to see a few average size houses, and a hut full of pickaxes.

He figured that that must be those guards' houses. He tried to think of something why they were in the middle of nowhere, and realized that someone just put all the human children here to mine these ores because humans are practically slaves to these people. It saves them the money they will spend to use on workers, but he still didn't know why there were no adult humans here. Adults would've been more useful than children, then why can't he see a single one of them?

He saw the other children already picking up the heavy pickaxes, though most of them were struggling to just carry it. They were all automatically moving by themselves, as if this kind of thing was already cemented deep inside their brains.

He followed along, so that the guards won't get angry at him and kill him. He needs time, and he will buy it by following every order they make, even though it hurt him to do that.

He saw a nearby iron ore in the shape of a small boulder, and hit it with his pickaxe with great difficulty since he still has the body of a child, but his pickaxe just bounced off the solid ore. He felt his arms go numb, his body shook until he fell on his butt.

'I didn't know it was THAT hard to hit something like this. Maybe I should put all of my unused stat points to [Strength]? I could probably use the pickaxe more efficiently that way.'

So, with great difficulty of deciding whether he should do it or not, he decided to put all of his unused stat points to [Strength - 4] and [Endurance - 4]. And instantly, he felt stronger and healthier than before. He picked up the pickaxe, and felt that it was lighter than before.

He decided to mine, but at a slower pace to save some of his strength. Right now, he doesn't have anything to kill to level up. He figured that killing other living creatures must be the way to level up, since it is, after all, an RPG Status Screen.
