Sharing the Good News With Him

編輯: Noodletown Translations

After having coffee together, Liu Sijie went to her modeling work while Shen Chengjing went to the studio for the audition.

This time, her guard was up unlike the last time.

But surprisingly, this was a very professional audition. The makeup artists and the producer were all present, and they even let her change into a Qing Dynasty costume for the formal audition.

"For this script, you are acting as a princess who has been imprisoned in the Cold Palace for many years after losing her love, and she devoted all of her life for the crown prince." The director handed her the script and said to her, "I saw your videos from before. You have good acting skills. Are you ready?"

She flipped through the script and was touched by the story. She liked this character who was bold to show her love and hatred. In the end, she overthrew the present emperor, killed her way into the royal palace all by herself, and rescued the crown prince. However, she was forced to jump down from the city wall and end her life.

"I'm ready." She took a deep breath.

As the light casted on her, Shen Chengjing closed her eyes to enter her zone, making time flow to the past.

The director and the producer sat on their chairs. Seeing her remain motionless, they were about to walk up, but she suddenly opened her eyes with deep sorrow in them.

"Your Highness, I, Ruqing, will kill anyone standing between you and the throne, even if it will cost my life. I was born for you, and I'm willing to die for you. I have no regrets." She strode up and flicked her wide and long flowing-cloud sleeves lightly. Then, she smashed the teacup in her hand onto the floor, turned around, and walked forward.

Her voice was loud and clear, and her expression was sometimes sad and sometimes joyous as tears welled up in her eyes. She had completely entered her zone.

Half an hour later, her audition was over.

"Director, what do you think?" when she heard someone yell "cut", she turned around and asked anxiously.

The director and the producer exchanged a look, then the producer walked up and said, "Ms. Shen, I'm sorry…"

"It's okay." Her heart kept on sinking down when she heard that.

She desperately wanted to succeed and get the role, but it seemed like she was too anxious. This was her first audition in the real sense, and she had done her best, but still…

"You're hired. If you're okay with it, our staff will contact you tomorrow to sign the contract. The shooting will begin in three days," the producer continued after a pause, giving her a roller coaster of emotions.

She was stupefied when she heard those words, unable to react in time.

"Ms. Shen, congratulations." The director walked up as well and reached out his hand.

"Did you say I'm hired?" She repeated the words in disbelief. This was her first audition and she made it.

"Of course."

She shook hands with the director and the producer and left after a brief chat with them.

"Thank you, seniors," she said as she bowed to them and walked out with her bag.

When she was out of the audition room, her cellphone rang, and it showed a strange number. She touched the answer button. "Hello? Who is this?"

"Wife, it's me."

"Do you have the wrong number?" Hearing the word wife, her first thought was that the caller dialed the wrong number.

"It's me, Moh Yanchen."

"Uncle? How come you have my number?" She blurted out.

A Rolls Royce stretch limousine drove over swiftly and stopped beside her. The door pushed open. "Get in."

With her cellphone in her hand, she was pulled into the car, then the door closed.

He drove deftly along the middle ring road in the city, and she noticed that he was still wearing his military boots and uniform which emphasized his dominant presence.

"Are you free next Wednesday?"

"I don't know. I'm going to have a shooting three days from now. I passed today's audition." She never thought that he would be the first person that she shared her good news with.

Seeing her waving her arms and legs in excitement, a rare smile appeared on his face even though it was faint.
