After spending a few hours with Luo Qi, Gu Xin Ye began to learn a few things about the stall and her daily task. For instance, the first thing she needed to do once she arrived at the stall was to sweep the ground.
Because the stall was located near the port, dead leaves and other rubbish would often gather around the stall.
Next, she should wipe all the chairs and tables and arrange them. Then, she needed to wipe the bowls and utensils.
Qin Zhan should arrive at the stall earlier to prepare the noodles and soup. Even so, he will be busy with the cooking procedure as preparing the broth and kneading dough could take a long time.
She should not worry about cooking preparation. Her job when both Luo Qi and Luo Jun was not around was to look after the customers.
However, what makes Gu Xin Ye almost passed out was the fact that she will need to show up earlier in the morning during weekdays. Apparently, the noodle stall will be open for breakfast on weekdays!
Those who went to the sea to fish would usually return to the port and sell their haul around the area in the morning. Since a lot of people would come around in the morning, the original owner, Old Chen decided to open the stall in the morning.
Hearing that she will have to get up early in the morning, Gu Xin Ye had the urge to beat someone. Although waking up early in the morning was not a big deal as she was used to it, Gu Xin Ye thought that she would rather sleep longer after doing all the physical work.
Doing work at the office and doing physical labor at the noodle stall were two different things.
Fortunately, Luo Qi gave her good news. The stall will be closed every Monday.
Thinking that her weekdays would be more leisurely than the weekend, Gu Xin Ye was a little happy.
Gu Xin Ye snapped out of her happy thought when she heard a loud chuckle. She turned around to that source of the sound and met Qin Zhan's gaze. He was watching her with a lopsided, mocking smile before he looked away.
For a few seconds, Gu Xin Ye froze at her place. She could not help but thought that Qin Zhan was looking down on her.
What's the deal with this guy?
"Sister, do you understand everything I told you?" Luo Qi asked once she finished explaining everything during wiping the utensils.
Gu Xin Ye turned around and flashed a smile at the teenage girl. "I know. I understand everything. Since you told me that the stall won't be too busy on weekdays, I think I can manage well. Besides, your uncle will be around if I need help with anything."
"That's true," Luo Qi nodded. "If you have anything you are not sure of, you can always check with little uncle. If he dares to bully you, sister, you can just complain to me. I can set him up straight."
Hearing the girl's words, Gu Xin Ye could not help but think of the sibling's relationship with Qin Zhan. The two kids would always refer to him as 'little uncle'. But as far as she had heard, Qin Zhan's parents had passed away a long time ago and he was the only child.
These two kids could not be his niece and nephew, right?
Before Gu Xin Ye could delve more into this mystery, a tour van had stopped at the side road, and soon, a group of people get off and started walking towards their direction.
Gu Xin Ye tightened her grip at the towel that Luo Qi had given her earlier as she braced herself to face the upcoming crowd.
Not too long after the first group had arrived, more vehicles stopped over at the side and people kept on coming to the noodle stall. It was packed that some of the customers were willing to stand at the side to eat their noodles.
Seeing this situation, Gu Xin Ye was convinced that Qin Zhan had decided to return to this small town to manage a noodle food stall because of the money. There were always big crowds coming to visit the noodle stall.
The two days that she had worked at the stall, the noodle that Qin Zhan made was sold out within five hours. Perhaps he did not make as much as working under Zhang Group Worldwide, but he at least had flexible working hours.
Once Qin Zhan put the last massive pot at her side for her to wash, Gu Xin Ye could feel her waist started to ache, and her fingers had long pruned after long contact with water.
"You're doing well these two days, new recruit," Qin Zhan spoke. The lopsided smile returned to his face and he continued. "But I hope that you won't suddenly decide to bail out on me and decided not to show up on Tuesday."
"I won't do that. You can trust me."
As someone who was in the F&B industries, Gu Xin Ye was aware of the staff turnover rate. Most of them could not tolerate the long working hours and would choose to quit after a few months. Sometimes, she would face staff who choose to quit and flee after working for a week.
Although those staff who ran away choose not to take their payment, it was still annoying when she had to find recruit someone new. The hiring process can be tiring as well.
As a person, Gu Xin Ye understood that she should never do things that she did not wish for others to do to her.
Gu Xin Ye shot him a look, but once she saw the money in his hand, her lips curled into a happy smile. She took her wages and thanked Qin Zhan.
Although the money cannot be compared with how much she made working in GDB, Gu Xin Ye could not help but felt good that she did receive something after a long, hard work.
Once she received the money, Gu Xin Ye shoved them into her pocket and continued to wash the pots and pans with both Luo Qi and Luo Jun's help. When everything was put aside to dry, Gu Xin Ye stood up with a satisfied look on her face.
"We're done for today!" Luo Jun said excitedly.
Just as the group of four was celebrating that they get to go back home and rest early, a luxury car parked just at the front of the noodle stall with a screech.
Suddenly, the dust flew around them, causing them to cough as the dust got to their eyes and nose.
As Gu Xin Ye watched a man dressed in a suit got off the vehicle, she subconsciously turned to Qin Zhan and wondered if he was going to chase the newcomer with his cleaver again.
