2.3 Your Guild Can't Afford It

A middle aged man walked up to our table and the bar became quiet.

Stream Chat:

Phoenix Wing: Isn't he the guild leader of Rumbling Heaven, Heaven Piercer?

Polaris: Why is Heaven Piercer here?

Emotionless: I have a feeling that there will be a good show to watch.

...

I looked at him and when he saw my red eyes, he became a bit unsettled. I didn't say anything.

"How about this... My Rumbling Heaven will buy your loot for 25,000-" Before he could finish, he was interrupted by voice tinged with frost. "You can't afford it." He looks at me with wide eyes like he was surprised that I would reject his offer. He was a bit angry that I called his guild's finances into question.

Gritting his teeth, he said. "How do you know we can't aff-" I interrupted him again. "No matter how much you and your guild are willing to pay me..." I stand up and slam my hand on the table then say. "YOU... CANNOT... AFFORD... IT." At this point, my voice was laced with killing intent. The only reason he would even talk to me is if he was recieving some benefits. This kind of lowly person is not worth getting to know.

My patience was thinning and everyone in the bar could tell. My killing intent made Heaven Piercer shudder but his fright turned into embarrassment and even more quickly turned into anger. He chuckles coldly and says "Do you think you and your group of friends can-" He was interrupted by a dagger that was inserted into his forehead. His eyes opened wide as he didn't even see me move before he was stabbed.

"I have a bottom line. You can threaten me but don't threaten the people around me that I care about. Your guild isn't worthy. I could make your guild disappear by with my own hands if I have to." My voice was tinged with ice. Everyone in the bar could feel the temperature drop. Rumbling Heaven unwillingly slumped down to the floor and died.

I turn back towards my friends and say "Don't worry about me for now. I am afraid that I won't be able to play with you guys for... maybe around a week. I have some matters to take care of." After saying this, I leave the bar but before I can leave, 3 npc gaurds show up.

Everyone immediately started talking.

"It looks like BloodMoon is getting arrested. You can't just kill anyone and not get caught."

"Even BloodMoon has to follow the laws of the towns."

When the npc gaurds showed up in front me, I asked them. "Is there any problem?"

The person who I assumed was the leader stepped up and said. "Nothing's wrong Lord Luminous Dancer. We have arrested the adventurer named Rumbling Heaven for threatening a Lord and we are here tell you this. We also need you to pay a 40 gold fine for killing inside of the town. He was very respectful which surprised everyone including me. I nod and pay the fine. "Have a good evening my lord." After saying his piece, the gaurds leave and everyone becomes silent.

"That's it? Why didn't she get arrested?"

"Lord? It seems that she already has a title. No wonder she wasn't arrested."

While everyone was disussing this, I had already left the bar and didn't know that me killing Heaven Piercer was the most discussed topic on the COTF Forums. There was also another topic that was 2nd most discussed.

The Rumbling Heaven Guild is issuing a 1000 gold bounty for the Player BloodMoon. She is also carrying loot from 10 lord classed monsters and a Supreme Lord classed monster. All loot dropped from her will belong to you. Our goal is to reclaim our guilds honor and prestige. We will make an example out of this arrogant player. Our guild will pour our resources into hunting this player down and killing her back to level 0.

I was linked this forum post from Phoenix Wing in the stream chat.

"I guess I will make an example out of Rumbling Heaven. Hehe..." If anyone were to see my eyes, they would notice that they became a deep soul piercing crimson color like blood. My voice was so cold that the my audience felt chills from it.

Phoenix Wing: I was going to offer you some assistance but it would seem it isn't necessary. #RIPRumblingHeaven

SlaughterGod: #RIPRumblingHeaven I feel like Heaven Piercer will regret walking up to you.

Emotionless: Let the show begin. #RIPRumblingHeaven

Looking at the stream chat, it seem that everyone had faith in me being able to take out a whole guild by myself. I smiled and sent Phoenix Wing and Emotionless a private message 'Thank for the concerns but I am strong enough to defend myself from these mediocre people. I actually have a request... Let's meet up inside the bar I was just in.'

After sending this message, I told everyone that I was at risk of being attacked by a group of monkeys if I continued to stream and had to end it. Everyone laughed and understood. I ended the stream and walked back to the bar.

When I walked inside, I saw a youth with a Phoenix Insignia on his chest sitting down next to slightly older young woman. The young woman was Emotionless and she was wearing a Raven Insignia.

"It's good to meet you both. I'm BloodMoon but you can call me Scarlett." I introduce myself to them. "You on the left must be Phoenix Wing, and you must be Emotionless." I smile and they nod.

"It's nice to meet you too, Scarlett. You said you had a request? We would like to ask... just what is it that you request of us?" Emotionless starts off with her question and Phoenix Wing looks at me with inquiring eyes.

I sigh and say "I have never been one to bend under someone's will. If I don't feel like doing it, then I won't do it. But my friends got caught up in this when I didn't sell Heaven Piercer my loot. I would like you guys to protect them when they leave town. I have also prepared rewards for when your task is over." Phoenix Wing looks at Emotionless and then back at me and asks.

"Is this reward worth our guild getting into the fray?"

He asked this and I smile at them. I go into my inventory and take out 2 gold tokens and place one in front of both of them.

"Guild Residence Tokens!!" They both exclaim at the same time. They stared at the token like it was a deity.

"If you guys accept, then this is yours." I say this bluntly.

"Wait, isn't this unfair for you. What if we use this token and we don't protect them?" Emotionless said this light heartedly as a joke.

I smiled at her and said, "Then there would not be much else I could do..." I snapped my fingers and a crimson strand of flame appears over them. At the same time, the light in the room starts to become dimmer as if the flame was devouring it. The pressure in the room made both Phoenix Wing and Emotionless feel as if thier hearts were being pressed by a hammer. "...I would only be able to destroy any and all progress your guild had made as well as the residence that you received from me." My smile made them shudder when they looked at it. That flame in my hand had turned into the most terrifying existence in this game. They also pitied Heaven Piercer at the same time.

"We will make sure to fulfill your request to the best of our abilities." They both say this at the same time. After we shook hands, Phoenix Wing and Emotionless left my estate.

When they walked outside, they realized that their backs were covered in sweat and thanks god that they were fans of me and not enemies. "What was that flame? It actually was able to devour the light inside that room. That was more pressure than a boss would emit when it was fighting." Phoenix Wing wipes the sweat off his brow.

Emotionless was still in shock. "Looks like roping her into our guilds is just not possible. Let's warn our allies that no matter what, it is not a good idea to be an enemy of BloodMoon. Tell them to be friends with her if possible, if not, then tell them to act like she is invisible. If anyone in our guilds decides to become enemies with her, they will be kicked from the guild and will have to pay an exorbitant contract termination fee."

Phoenix Wing was in shock. "She is that strong?"

"Yes, I only felt an aura like that from the old monsters in my clan. People like her are beings we cannot afford to mess with. The craziest part is that she is still young. From the investigations my clan did, she had only just graduated from high school. She is also had the highest test scores in her county and is 2nd place in the country only because the list is in alphabetical order. She is a cold person with a shrewd attitude and a cautious character. Did you hear about that story where a molester on a train had his hand cut off?"

Phoenix Wing nodded. "Everyone knows about that. They said that the person who cut his hand off was never found. Wait... It can't be that..."

Emotionless continued. "She is good to the people close to her but merciless to everyone else. For the smallest slight, she will tear off a layer of your skin. Anything more and you might not see tomorrow. If we become friends, it will be like having a layer of protection, if we be come enemies, we won't even have a chance to surrender." She shuddered when ever she thought of that crimson flame. How did she get it?

While they were warning thier allies, I recieved a call from Tyrant.

"Is everything okay?" I asked.

"Yea, we are just leveling right now. What about on your end?" Tyrant asked back.

"I'm gonna head out to the west gate towards Flame Valley and meet Rumbling Heaven head on. They surrounded the city and are waiting for me to come out." I say very nonchalantly. This group of like minded fools are not even ants beneath me right now. I don't want to waste to much time on them so I will just kill them as fast as possible.

"Do you need any help?" Tyrant asked worriedly.

"Nah, I should be alright. By the way, send me your coordinates, I traded some of the loot that was useless for our group to Empirian Phoenix and the White Ravens and they will protect you guys in the shadows if you run into people from Rumbling Heaven." Tyrant thanked me and gave me his coordinates. I sent them to Phoenix Wing and Emotionless and they immediately got to work.

I walked out of my estate and went to the west gate but not before turning my stream back on.
