28 Ambition versus love

Jolina stayed at R's Courier Service and more. In fact, every new branch opened, she would be transfered to it. She personally aclaimed that she is the lucky charm of Roel's growing business. That's why, she was over confident of her value to Roel. Jolina was consistent with her request of putting share to every branch opened. She thought it was her privilege as the lucky charm....

At first, it was a clear request but when the 10th branch was opened, it was no longer a request but a demand, that everytime she would be pulled out from her current post and be transfered to be a manager to train and supervise people in another branch, she should have same privilege of having a share. The more branches opened the more share she had and subsequently her involvement in decision making got higher and higher.

Jolina was not just clever but ambitious. Not anymore contented with the shares she had, she also wanted to marry Roel. If that happens, all of his business branches will also be hers. Roel was so engrossed with his work and did not noticed how many times Jolina attempted to flirt him and even seduced him. Until one night, the year was about to end and a meeting was conducted by the higher ups on the bonuses each employees would be receiving. Plus, Roel was planning to throw a big party for all his employees as his way of thanking them for their loyalty and efforts that made their company miracurously grow to what it is now. It would be a thanksgiving/Christmas/year-end party and everybody should receive extra gift and so planning was made especially for its 10th anniversary party. Because it was the busiest time of the year, Roel was extremely tired. After the meeting, when almost all was gone, except for Jolina who stayed with him till the last man out, Roel almost fell to the floor. Good that Jolina stood by his side and caught him before landing to the floor. She assisted him to a chair and massage his temple for a while. She sensed that Roel is sick and with his condition, should not be home alone. She called for the guards for assistance and brought Roel to her home. She immediately called their family doctor to come and see Roel, she was worried with his condition that if he will be hospitalized, scheduled meetings, conferences including the most awaited party will be affected. Good that the doctor said Roel was just over fatigued and he needed rest and sleep plus a nutritious meal. So Jolina insisted that Roel stay in her place, as soon as he gets well, he can go back to his usual routine. She was determined to take care of him, after all, he has done a lot to her, the good life she had given to her parents and siblings, she owe it a lot from him.

That was the beginning when Roel noticed Jolina and that he was no longer young. As he sipped a hot tea prepared by Jolina, he thought that it's time to look for a partner who could love him and take care of him.
