I had snuck my two cartons of milk and I drank up the whole 2 litres of them. It was cold and it goes down easily too. Since it was low lactose, well hope it doesn't go and interfere with my system. After I had drunk them, I toss the empty cartons in the receptacle and saw that both Beast and Spotty were happy with the milk and both had drops of milk on their snouts and errr... Lips? Hahahaha.
I let out a loud burp and I can smell the smell of milk from my breath. Hahahaha. Well, it's for the cats and they deserved it. I slept and woke up when the sunrise had peeked through the heavily drawn curtains. I looked at the time and it showed just past 10 am and I hope I'm not too late for breakfast.
After showering and changing to my other spare clothes, I decided to pack my stuff and headed to the counter since checkout on the BnB would be 11 am. I made sure I had never left anything behind and went to the counter to return my keys. I asked if breakfast is still available and found that the last servings were at 10 am.
"Awwww...its alright. I'd like a cup of coffee please, if someone is kind enough to prepare one for me. I'd be in this waiting area then." I said as I sat down on its plush armchair overlooking a pool in the rear side of the BnB. Wow, an outdoor pool. No wonder it's a bit pricey but with such amenities, no wonder people won't mind staying for a few days.
My coffee came and it's complimentary. The checkout crew had cleaned up the room and cleared all the greasy papers from the receptacle. I went over to the kitchen to grab my other 2 cartons of cool milk and decided to store it on the other house if the outlook was appealing to me.
My current unit still has about a few months lease left so I would be there intermittently just to stock on meat and feed my poor cats. I guess they could eat about 10 pounds of meat each and decided to get some for them later once I had finished the balance of the meat in the freezer.
After I had drunk my coffee, it's time to meet the host for the cottage. I called her and told her that I would be there by 1 pm as I would be riding my bike. She must be thinking I'm riding a bicycle and told me not to hurry and take my time. Hahahahhaha
"No worries, ma'am. I stowed my carton of milk in the saddlebag as I slung my duffel bag across and eased my bike out of the lot. After keying in the coordinate of the Cottage near Oak Grove Cabins, I took off leaving a trail of exhaust in its wake.
It was a well 2 hours ride and since there's nothing else after Franklin, I got myself a bag of ice and 2 gallons of coke, a pack of Salem and some chips. Since there was no food service or shops in Cowee I was advised to stock up at BP for petrol just before the turnoff from Franklin.
So boring, unlike Coal Mountain. But the idea of away from civilisation dawns on me and I find its better since Beast and Spotty could hunt deer for their own food. Hehehehe. Saves me resources for meat.
But eating habits for a mountain lion is different. They would hunt and stow their Prey for a few days under some brush and once the food decays, they would leave it to rot.
Spotty could easily eat their Prey and share with Beast on the first kill and Spotty only ate about 10-25 kg of meat in time and rest to digest as it would last for a few days. Just eat 2 chops would satisfy Spotty for days.
I rode past Cowee and headed towards several cottages and spotted a solitary on just a few hundred feet from the cluster. A red Hilux was there at the compound of the solitary cottage.
I greeted and a sporty middle-aged lady came out and introduced herself and handed me a card. She asked how was my trip and said that it would be quite difficult to be here and shop for groceries in Franklin.
"There's a few great eateries such as Tex Mex 'Big Wessers' tacos 3 for $8 for chicken and Beef or $11 for Roasted Pork Bellies. We do have Pizza Hut, Burger King and a Chinese restaurant in Bryson City. Quite a good selection but it's best when one cooks at home. It pays to get a rental car or something."
"Thanks...I would be looking at a 6 months one-time payoff. But let me take a look inside though." the host invited me in after saying this and I take a look at it and nodded my head...not too bad...not too bad at all. The main door leads to the living room, 1 exit from the kitchen. Land-line, WiFi, running potable water, hot and cold shower, a bathtub, 2 bedrooms and 2 beds.
A living space with a table and a place to hook up the pc or laptop. A nice kitchen with an upright 4 door ref, 1 for frozen and the bottom drawer for veg and fruits and 1 for chiller, drinks, wine, champagne, milk and coke if course....hahahhaha.
I looked at the upright freezer and seems quite alright. It could a least store up to 6 slabs of meat and I may need some service to send it up to this cottage. Can't blow my cover I'm staying alone here though.
"I don't have a credit card nor a cheque but I've got an atm card... I like this place and would be here intermittently like a few in a row and then I'm off to Dawson. I'm a writer, see... I'm writing this novel called Wolverines and Vampires - A Shapeshifter's Tale and the other novel would be Quantum Leap - Multiverse Transmigration."
"And you know us writers, we earn peanuts and they expect gorilla type of results. Hahahahhaha..." I laughed and the host laughed too.
"Eeeerrrrr..... About the monthly lease thingy, could there be a possibility of a discount? And this duffel bag is all I have for my belongings. I'd be paying you a one time 6 months lease so I won't have to worry about rents and all."
"Do you need anyone to take care of the house chores like changing bed sheets, laundry, dry cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, etc? If you don't need all these, I could help to bring it down further..."
She looked me pitifully as I held my duffel bag and claimed its the only possession I had in this world and my bike.
"It's alright ma'am, I don't really need all these luxuries of being pampered. I had been living off my bike for some time and decide to get a permanent homestay. A least paying off a 6 months lease would be great for you. Hmmm.. Do I hear 500 from you?"
