Interlude - A final farewell

1 year had passed, and on a desk lay a paper that had collected dust. It read as follows,

"To whom ever may be reading this, if by chance I am ever to die this letter is to be assigned to my student. Well then I'll begin from the start.

Meteor city, the nonexistent city as the government would lead you to believe, it was there where I was born. Or rather abandoned. As a child I never had much, the woman who had cared for me. Actually, the woman who had used me was a very violent woman. She was very quick to anger, but worse she was a liar, many times her lies would end up coming back to bite her. How did she deal with it you may ask? Of course she would use me as the scapegoat and what could a child like me do? Fight back? How laughable, and yet it was exactly what I did. However what could a child like me do? In fact, I could do nothing, so I decided to make a deal. The cost was of course my soul, but the power I had gained, it was invigorating. I felt like I could fight against the entire world and win! The first thing of course was to rid the world of that lying bastard, when her body burst into flames I felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulders! It had felt so liberating that I wanted to continue ridding the world of those despicable liars. Now skip forward a few years and I'm an assassin hunting down the worst of the worst, however I needed money to get information on my targets and unfortunately the cost is extremely high. They say the longer you keep hating someone the more you end up becoming one. In exchange for money I had gotten involved in some human trafficking, although I do hope that everyone is fine as most if not all of my previous employers are now six feet under, I know damn well that people like those I had sent away have no future. It was then when I was only 27 that I had come across a little demon. One of my "suppliers" had come to take care of a little girl with blue eyes and blonde hair, yet their was something strange about her. For starters she was clearly experienced when it came to killing, but that wasn't what was strange about her. As the user of a devil, one who would consume souls, I had grown accustomed to sensing the souls of people. But this child didn't have just one soul, no she had two. One that was more tainted or evil per say than anyone I had ever seen, and the other was as pure as the sun's golden rays, however it was being suppressed. If not for that pure soul, well she would have died where she stood. As one who had fallen to the darkness I wanted to allow that other soul, that other person to gain control. To help her spread her wings and soar! But to do so I needed to give her the opportunity to do so. And so I trained that demon in order to send her to my dear friend Zecht and his wonderful forest. There she was able to come out. And I finally met her. She was a sweet little child and I pray that she'll be able to stay pure in a world like this one. The only problem of course is the demon. With such an entity like her I'm almost certain that she'd ruin her. And so Mary, I have faith that you will be able to subdue her! Become a great hunter, gain strength and win! I know you can do it! Within you lies a power that even I couldn't measure! The end of my story draws near, I can feel it, and if I have a regret let it be this one, I wish I could see you grow up my sweet Mary. Also I wish I taught you to read.

Tears fell onto the paper as a child left the room and looked up to the night sky and muttered, "Thank you, I promise to fulfill your wishes, Uncle!" She said those last words with a smile on her face. "After all, when the moon falls, the sun rises, isn't that right, Uncle?"
