Students with abilities carefully assembled in the pavillion to hear the address of the principal, but there was a person from the government instead.

"We have gathered you here for a simple reason, to send out an advisory to all ability users. In the past year there have been multiple casualties, several heroes and ability users have been targetted and killed for reasons unknown. We believe that a new villain who works in stealth is the culprit, but we are unable to find out the mode of attack. Hence we request all ability users here to maintain strict vigilance and inform us if they have noticed anything unusual lately."

Back at the shop.

"Kid, done with school already? Did you come here early to make trouble?"

"School's off. They've become paranoid because another hero was killed yesterday night." Keiran spoke disinterestedly as he took out the black card that the old man had given him and started playing with it.

"They mind their hero business, we mind ours. Stay away from them kid." The shopkeeper began his daily nag.

"Okay, Okay! And when will I get some real missions? I had to go and kill that stupid donkey monster outside the city, it is so boring waiting in the wild old man, besides I've been doing this since I was a kid." Keiran shook his head as he took a chocolate from the shop'ss cabinet and swallowed it.

"Missions are based on demands kid. Yesterday some client wanted that monster for research, so you had to kill the donkey. The carcass was good quality, you are improving by leaps and bounds kid."

"Yet, it isn't enough to be able to steal from this shop."

Next day at school. Keiran was randomly walking along the corridors with his buddy Ryan when Keiran's crush suddenly appeared in front of them.

The entire corridor of people turned to look at the girl, it was the final year senior at the high school. She was a student council member! The girl looked around haughtily as everyone hid their sly gazes of infatuation and jealousy.

When the girl saw Keiran she started walking towards him with a snort. Ryan who saw this got shocked! Is this the crush of Keiran? It was the discipline member of the council, Regina.

"You, come with me to the roof!" She casually told Keiran to follow her.

"Why?" Keiran asked blankly. Wasn't she done after the beating that day?

"Don't ask too much just follow me to the roof!" Regina said, this time angrily as she powerfully dragged Keiran's arm. The beauty was reputed around the school for her short temper and violent streak.

Keiran grumbled and followed her anyway. When they reached the roof Regina spoke again.

"Did you think you could hide your skills in front of me? I told you to spar with me not act like a punching bag." She said.

"I am not an ability user like you, why are you pestering me for a spar? Didn't you tell me to stay away and then accuse me of being a pervert? Do you think I am your slave?" Keiran questioned back.

Hearing him rant Regina was taken aback. Everyone, including herself, knew that she was short tempered, but she realized she was too rude to him for no reason.

"I apologize for my behavior. Now spar with me!" She was back to the starting point.

"How can I spar with you? I am a weakling. I know you are strong. Are you trying to bully me despite being a discipline member?" Keiran went on with sophistry. He didn't want to fight with her no matter what.

"Weakling? Weren't you able to beat half a dozen high school seniors in a fight while you were still in middle school? Did you think I would forget it?"

She asked.

"It was you who had to save me." Keiran said bitterly, he did not want to be reminded again how he was rejected by her!

"You were already winning. I only helped because they were all ability users, although they were slags, you were fighting on equal standing." Regina analyzed calmly. "I just want to spar with you using physical combat."

At that moment, Keiran suddenly had a bad premonition that someone was targetting him. He quickly jumped towards Regina and tumbled onto the floor with her. Without giving her time to think, he dragged her to the corner, behind a wall for cover.

Regina was going to flare up when the sound of an artillery rang through her ears as the the place where she was standing was hit and exploded. Keiran wasted no time and called the school office number, explaining what just happened. An attempted sniper.

Soon the school was swarming with authorities again. Regina was shocked into silence, while Keiran helped with describing the situation to authorities who had gathered on the roof.

The two were taken downstairs into the principal's office for a briefing while authorities began investigating the sniper.

The principal sat in silence for a long while. Keiran was beginning to get bored, while Regina was taking her time to recover from shock. Just now her life was centimeters away from death.

Then the principal finally was about to speak when the army representative entered the room without warning.

"Sorry to interrupt principal, but we have some issues to discuss." The army rep said.

"Yes?" The principal asked with a heavy sigh. This murderer had gone scott free too long and now his own students had been targetted! He was livid!

"Two other schools are reporting similar attacks and they weren't as lucky as these kids. We have two new casualties from this crime operator. But we have found out that he uses a sniper, although a bullet wound was never discovered on any of the victims, it is probably something to do with the criminal's ability." The Army rep. nodded before taking his leave. "Please do increase security for the school."
