Ivy's eyes lit up and she got a bit carried away because they were talking about her favorite topic.

"As many as I can. There's this guy who holds the current Guinness World Record for most languages learned and he knows fifty-eight. Can you imagine? His mix-ups must be insane. He's known as a polyglot—someone who is fluent in more than five languages.

"Right now I'm only fluent in three but I'm getting pretty close with my French! Once I get that down I'm going to work on my Italian more. I'm not sure what to try next, more Germanic languages or Asian ones.

"Japanese is pretty confusing, as you probably know, and Germanic ones are considered somewhat similar to Romance languages so that might be easier for me. Especially because I already speak German well."

She paused her monologue and bit her lip. "Sorry. This is probably boring you."

Carson shook his head. "Not at all! I like it when you talk."
