Town Defense

"Guild Master, the Demonic Beast attacking towns can drop higher quality bones, they are better than the common monster but also much stronger" BadHalo sent Leroy a message.

"Good, is there any town under assault?" Leroy asked. He got many bones from Old Pat but all of them were average at best, most couldn't even be refined.

"Demonic Beast has been spotted near Wind Sword Town yesterday, there is probably going to be an assault in a couple of hours" BadHalo reported.

"Alright, I'll be going there myself" Leroy said and walked out of the shop.

Wind Sword Town, many players gathered there waiting to participate in the Town Defense Quest. At first, they tought that the invasion of beasts was a great event, but soon understood how wrong they were, some of them didn't have the strength to fight against the Demonic Beasts at all.

Still, the rewards were quite high and one could earn reputation points with town and cities among many other rewards.

Only those above Level 25 dared to participate on this, the town had many new players gathered inside, it was simply impossible for them to level up at night.

All players were in parties of six and more, prepared for the Demonic Beast assault.

Leroy was there among them, at the walls looking at the darkness, they started to hear the howls of the beasts getting closer and closer.

Suddenly, the rangers started firing arrows into the dark and the howls grew angrier.

Figures became visible one after another. Bears with black fur and eyes charged towards the town walls and gates.

"They are here, don't hold back" A player said and inmediatly all the magic classes on his party attacked the beasts. There were thousands of players participating in the Town Defense, it was a huge show of lights from skills and spells.

The bears were quickly killed, they were Level 27 Demonic Beast but each had over 30,000 HP, it was much more powerful than normal monsters.

Even so they couldn't withstand the attacks.

Altough the beasts were killed, their numbers and variety increased considerably. First only tens got near the walls but now there were hundreds and the number continued growing.

When all players were feeling pressured, someone spotted a player outside the walls, he waltzed between the monsters like a fish in the water. Easily positioning himself behind a monster and after a few flashes, it would drop dead on the ground.

"Who is him?" Players on the wall quickly noticed him.

"Is he insane? Someone actually is outside the walls"

'Even he is here?' Leroy recognized the player, it was Mark.

Mark skillfully attacked each monster and evaded their attacks and also the player's aoe spells.

"It's actually Heavensent! He has been participating in town defenses for a while now, almost every time he appeares, a town defense would be succesfull."

As players discussed him, the pressure they felt lowered as the assasin killed one monster after the other.

'He is still Mark' Leroy sighed and looked at him, he couldn't help but praise the heroic spirit of him. Mark was someone with a strong sense of justice, he was the typical hero of classic romance novel.

'This is getting more interesting' He looked at the dark, he could feel the auras of more and more monsters approaching, with Chieftain and Lord Ranks beasts on their ranks.

After a while, the pressure the players felt came back as now more than a thousand beast would attack the walls, even with Mark on their side, they still had to sweat to keep up with the monsters.

"Hey you, why are you not helping!?" A Berserk shouted at Leroy while using axe throw at a beast.

"Me? I'm don't want to attack these little things" Leroy lazily replied.

Players then took notice of him, he was the only one who didn't attack a single time and just occupied space on the wall.

Hearing his reply, the berserk was enraged.

"If you are not going to help, get off the wall before I do it myself" He shouted and pointed his axe at him.

"Why don't you get off the wall, wouldn't a ranger or mage be more useful here that you throwing your little toy around?" Leroy words inmediatly make the sorrounding players let out a laugh and get distracted for a second, that made the beasts approach even further.

The berserk didn't bother with words and inmediatly attacked Leroy. Leroy just side stepped and evaded the attack.

"Your technique is all wrong, no different from a child waving a stick" Leroy casualy commented. He then used blink and appeared in the outside of the walls, not bothering with him.

"I guess this one is more decent" He looked over at a giant snake that soon came close enough for other players to see. Their expressions grew more anxious with the appearence of the new enemy.

Green Tongued Serpent (Lord Rank)

Level: 34

HP: 450,000/450,000

This serpent, affected by the Abyss was now much stronger than the original self.

When Leroy took a step forward, a figure appeared behind the snake and slashed down with his daggers. The snake let out a painful sound and twisted it's tail around sending the sorrounding beasts flying, yet it didn't hit the attacker.

'Why are they always attacking my targets?' Leroy was upset at Ford and his sons now.

"Look, Heavensent damaged the boss so easily"

"He is so strong!"

This action gained the admiration of the players on the wall.

'Tch! at least there comes another one' Leroy mutered and looked behind the serpent.

Two more Lord Rank demonic beasts came charging toward their side of the wall.

When players saw the newcomers, they had an ugly expression on their faces. Altough it wasn't impossible for they to kill the Lord Rank beasts, the thousands of common demonic beasts could easily make the defense fall.

On the other hand, when Leroy saw them he had a happy expression. He didn't came here to hunt for low rank beasts, this ones would at least give better things.

These Lord rank monster scared the players, there was a high probability of them being capable of jumping on the walls. If that happened, they were doomed.

'Dark Arrow'

Leroy casted a dark arrow in the middle of them as to attract their attention. His attempt was succesfull as they inmediatly charged to him.

"That Cursemancer must be tired of living!" It was the tought of any player that saw his actions.

Leroy activated Sin of Fury and big silver-black fireball appeared in front of him, the scorching heat made the charging panthers grow wary. But before they moved to the side, black tentacles came from the ground and holded them tightly.

'Go' Leroy pushed his palm forward and the fireball left his hand at shocking speed.

The fireball impacted fully on the panther with golden patterns on its fur, and propagated over to its companion.

The people on the wall had wide eyes, a Cursemancer could actually have such an attacking power? He just took 10% of the boss hp in a single attack!

The panthers roared and used a skill while attacking once again. Leroy let them approach, the Gold Clouded Panther attacked from the ground first while the Silver one jumped and attacked from the air.

Leroy quickly took two steps back and casted the Shield of Heity, the golden panther clashed against the shield and a powerfull force sent it shooting backwards.

At the same time, dark tentacles jumped from the ground and wrapped themselves on the silver panther body, then retracted to the ground, slamming the monster to it.

A solid sound was produced as it crashed on the ground, but dark arrows started raining down on it. This was the power of Tier 2 Control Skills, it could easily affect Lord Rank monsters.

One! Two! Three! Four!

One dark arrow after the other fell on it, each dealing more than 15,000 damage and some even triggered critical hits.

The gold panther howled in rage at seeing its companion being butchered like this. It inmediatly charged at him.

Leroy used Sinner's Retreat, his boots skill gave him 40% of Movement Speed, and started dodging the attacks from the panther while the arrows still rained down on the other one.

As the panther was about to release an attack skill, Leroy jumped in the air and a dark arrow came flying from his back as he did, hitting the head of the golden panther and sending it five steps back.

"Such an exquisite control"

"He casted a spell from his own back like that!"

"There is no way a Cursemancer can be this powerful"

"Don't tell me he is..."

People on the wall almost stopped attacking the beasts as they loooked over the fight, even Mark took a look over.

The rain of arrows finally dissipated, leaving behind a panther with 160,000 hp. While the golden panther still had more than 300,000.

"Well, it was fun" Leroy said and suddenly dark and silver coloured mana took the shape of a spear. Everyone's heart felt cold as the aura was released. The panthers inmediatly showed fearful expressions and started stepping back.

'Go' Leroy throw he spear at the Gold Clouded Panther, even through Demonic Beasts had high magic resistance, the attack seemed to ignore it completely as it directly penetrated the panther's body.

After the spear pierced his body, it didn't explode. 'There would be no point if not even their bones remain' Leroy looked over at the panther that lost most remaining health on this single attack.

'Curse of Piet' He casted a curse on the silver panther and a dark arrow shot toward it followed by a Dark Fireball.

A second after, a illusory snake coiled around the golden panther and took a bite at it.

After the flames dissipated, the silver panther was just a corpes while the golden one died ten meters away from his position from the poison of Nether's Bite.

"It's him! That is definetly Sensations!"

"Raven Sanctuary's Guild Master is too powerful"

Players broke in discussion but Leroy didn't pay them any mind. The only reason that he killed the monsters so fast was because a new challenger was approaching.

From the dark, a five meter tall bear showed his massive frame.

"Why? What are High Lords doing here so soon" Players saw this monster and felt that something was wrong inmediatly.

"What is doing a beast like this here?"

Leroy looked over at the bear too.

Abyssal Bear (High Lord Rank)

HP: 1,950,300

This was a much more powerful creature than any other around yet, it wasn't even a Dungeon boss but it had almost two million hp points.

"These demonic creatures sure are powerful" Leroy said as the bear walked toward him with calm steps.

A painful sound came from the snake as Mark stood beside it's corpse taking the loot. He looked over at the bear that was already close to Leroy in dissapointment and continued killing other beasts.

"Unfortunely, you are still not my target" Saying that, fifteen Raven Knights and ten Ghost Wolves were summoned. The new perfected skill summoned much stronger creatures, their design and aura was much stronger.

After being perfected, they had become Lord Rank monsters in their basic state, with his class passive, they almost pgraded into a higher rank. Even though they weren't at the High Lord rank, their attributes were not that far. As a summon spell, their hp also couldn't compare with real creatures.

The huge bear inmediatly had a serious expression, so many enemies releasing an aura similar to his.

"Go kill him" Leroy commanded, and the Knights formed fast before charging.

The bear didn't lose time and sent a pawn attack toward the Knight leading the charge, but the knight suddenly vanished.

Slash!

A sword covered in dark mana wounded the arm of the bear.

"What a powerful monster!"

"They are even stronger than in the video of the battle against Nine Dragons Emperor"

"What skill did they use just now? It is amazing!"

Everyone gaped at the scene of the knight using a clumsy version of Leroy's movement technique.

'It seems this is their limit?' Leroy analyzed the summons. After being refined with undead essence and refined bone dust, they have increased in rank and their intelligence allowed them to learn new techniques and formations.

However, they were still created based on the Skeleton Warriors and the Undead Wolves, basically just upgraded versions.

'I'll have to create new summons from scratch when I go back. Luckily, that tough guy there will have strong body and essence to use as a base' Leroy tought while gazing into the dark.

He could feel through his mana a inmensely powerful aura there, a being was looking over the creatures assault but didn't seemed it would participate.

The battle between knights, wolves and bears wasn't a battle, it was bullying. Altough it had massive amount of hp, it's strength wasn't higher than it's numerous enemies, one wound after the other was left on it's body. Whenever a knight used a skill, it would howl in pain.

Less than five minutes after, the bear dropped on all fours, dead.

Leroy let the knights take the loot from the bear and extracted the essence from it under the shocked eyes of those at the wall.

'Angry?' Leroy smiled, the aura seemed to grow unrestful.

"Mark, call over Ford and his team. There'll be many powerful things here soon." Leroy spoke to Mark who was killing creatures with a carefree expression.

Hearing his voice, Mark stopped and looked at him, he nodded and sent the message. If Leroy said powerful monsters would be coming, then it must be at least of Great Lord rank, Ford would definetly kill him if he didn't tell him.

Two more High Lord monsters came out closer to the walls but were intercepted by teams of Knights and Wolves. Leroy didn't move a finger against them yet. Players had a hard time believing what they saw, just how could a player be much stronger than them?.

Before the High Lord monsters died, a group of 450 people jumped from the walls.
