Beach Duel

"Well, I guess we will be alone, or-r not," He said as they turned to the beach, "I guess my parents had the same idea."

"Well, that doesn't matter, does it?" She said as she removed her sandals and walked barefoot in the sand, "Hi Sona! Hi Omega!"

"Came here to rest as well, Hugo?"

"More or less, I came here to spend time with Cassidy, and why not Sona," He said as they walked towards them, "How are you doing?"

"I am a little tired," Sona said that she came with Cassidy here often, so it must be pretty nice to be here, so I came," Hugo sat down in the sand, Cassidy unrolled a bamboo mat. She sat down and then lied down.

"How is it being back, Hugo?"

"I don't know, for once I can be here for Nami's birthday and for Cass's birthday," Hugo said, "Actually what did she want for her birthday?"

"Should I say it?" Sona said turning to Cassidy, "Or do you want to say it?"

"She said she wanted her father to be there," Cassidy said rolling over to face him, "It's that sweet."

"Then I guess I will be here," Hugo smile as he looked out to towards the sea. He took a drink, he smiled, "Omega maybe I could show you the thing I did to fight Jarvan, remember, a few years ago."

"Sure, but don't attack me, I am no god," He said as he got up and stretched, "I am not in perfect condition, even if I am resilient as a demonborn, it still affects me, later on, when I am not in that form."

"Okay, but before I show you," Hugo said as he stood in front of him, "I haven't tried this since, but can you put all your force into one region of your body?"

"No, it is spread throughout my body, I can't chose to be a glass cannon."

"Well, here it is," The black wings erupted from his back. Horns rose on his head. He moved his arms on his shoulder line and his wings wrapped around them, before being absorbed into them. He placed his left arm on his right shoulder and it entered his right shoulder. His right arm was completely black and morphed into a large axe-like shape, he let it drag on the ground next to him, "This is what I mean."

"So this is how you beat his defense, interesting, swing at me," He said as his wings slowly emerged from his back and two blades formed on his forearms, he moved them in front of him and nodded. Hugo lifted the massive weapon of an arm he had an jumped towards Omega slamming the blade onto his arms and wings that he used to defend himself. The blade bounced and Omega fell back from the impact. He rose to his feet and nodded again. Hugo spun and slammed the blade into his defense. The blade didn't bounce and sent Omega flying backwards. He wrapped his wings around himself and landed in the sand. Hugo removed his left arm and his arms returned to normal and his horns faded. Omega rose to his feet and returned to his normal state. Hugo returned to Cassidy's side and sat next to her, Omega sat down next to Sona.

"Impressive," He laughed, "When is the last time you knocked me to the floor in one of our duels?"

"Never," Hugo said, "This is the only time I did, and I am pretty tired now, maybe we should lie down," He said as he lied down, Cassidy turned to face him and whispered to him.

"I haven't been this excited watching two people fight since the last duel you had, when you still have that god-forsaken amulet."

"Glad you enjoyed," He yawned, then took a drink, "I am happy being back, and tomorrow is the day-off of the week, I am eager to spend some more time with Nami."

"She is learning quickly, she can write a little and she reads some things, but she still has some way to go."

"She is only four."

"I guess you are right, she is lucky, luckier than me."

"It worked out for you in the end, so I think you were lucky as well."

"Lucky to fall in love with you," She moved close to him and kissed him. She rolled back onto her back and closed her eyes. Hugo stared up at the sky, he wasn't tired enough to fall asleep, and he couldn't keep his eyes shut. Every noise made him jump. Bloody fucking war, it changes you. He sat up and took a drink. He rubbed his eyes, and stared out to sea. He rose to his feet, Cassidy sat up when she noticed him.

"Where are you going?"

"Sorry, I just, I just can't sit around and do nothing," He said as he took another drink, "I will go see my adviser, I'll organize the dinner as well."

"Okay, have fun," She said as she rolled onto her back. He walked off and headed back into the city. He shook his head. He knocked on the small door.

"Come in!" Hugo pushed the door open, "Hello, Capt'n, what brings you here?"

"How are you?"

"I am doing fine, how about yourself?"

"I just got back from the war front, I am pretty tired," He explained as he took a seat, "Did you send the letters to the families?"

"Yes, I have, and I sent them the extra pay as well," He said as he finished his glass of water, "What can I do for you?"

"Anything happened in the city while I was gone?"

"No, actually, most of the men are on the front and the men who are left are traders or the older men, so no real problems, why? You trying to find something to do?"

"Yeah, I went to the beach with Cass and I just couldn't sit there and do nothing," He sighed, "I was hoping that you would have something for me to do."

"Sorry, Capt'n, but the war is the main thing and not much happens here now," He said, "I can't change that."

"Is the food at the tavern still good?"

"I can organize it for you, I don't have much to do either," He said as he began to write things down in his notebook, "For how many?"

"If you insist, for me, Cassidy, Sona, Omega and Nami."

"Okay, I will have it ready for 7," He said as Hugo got up and walked to the door, "Oh, and by the way, there was a man who was looking for you, I don't know why, but he didn't give me his name or a reason."

"Where is he?" He said half way through the door.

"He should be at the tavern, at least he said that is where I could find him," He said, "Have a good day!"

"You too," He said as the door closed. A man that he doesn't know, I might as well go see him. What could he possibly do? He walked towards the tavern. He pushed the doors open and noticed a man sitting alone at the bar. I'll go see. He walked over to the bar counter.
