The Special Day (Part 2)

The fresh air blows gentle against Auria's face as she races across the village.

As she runs along the village she greets some of the people that she made friends within the last few years. Though none of them were her age, she was friends with quite a few of the stall owners in the street.

She had gotten quite friendly with them over the year because as she ran past they all shouted hello to her and wished her a good day.

They would often offer her some fresh fruits and meats, as they have all received help from her at some point before she started working at the library, nowadays they all realize what a hard-working girl she is and they all secret cheer for her behind her back when she isn't near them as one of the hardest work and most determined youths they've ever seen.

After she got a job at the library should would still often come back to this tiny street market and help all the stall owners and aunties, this time not because she needed the money. But because she genuinely wants to help them after hearing many stories from them about their lives. From one store owner's child leaving them to go pursue greater strengths than the village or this one auntie whose husband had perished from a magical beast while protecting the village.

Auria truly believed that there's not fate worst then being forgotten, so she visits them in the morning every single day while going to the library to talk with street market people.

Today she did feel bad for not stopping like normal, but she when she was running past they all started shouting happy birthday to her and she was too embarrassed to stop so all she could do was to turn around for a second at the end of the street market and shout back at them "Thank you all for what you've done for me so far, You've made me who I am today. You're all like family to me!" and then proceeded to dash off with a reddened face.

Behind her, in the street market, you can hear the chuckles of all the store owners and shoppers at Auria's declaration and her retreat in embarrassment. They all high five each other in being able to tease the cute lovable child that has helped them for so long that they practically treated her like family as well.

As all the street owners cheer, a single shadow looks from the alley in interest and mutters to herself

'Such a well known and innocent girl, but what's with the odd abundance of mana surrounding her?'

the silhouette conjures up a ball of lightning as it looks into it and mutters once more.

"She doesn't have a detectable story either. What an interesting fellow. She seems to have potential"

The silhouette turns around and the cape around it flutters, revealing a feminine silhouette and suddenly disappears without any indication or mana change in the surrounding.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Auria finally reaches the edge of the village as she approaches the guards who smile upon seeing her.

"Going out to the library again Auria?" the guard says as he takes her pass to leave the village.

"Yeah! It takes a while to get there but it's fun! So who cares~" She says as she takes back the pass that the guard hards back to her.

"Well, just remember to come back before the sun falls. Monsters will appear if you don't." the other guard warns her as he does every day as he calls up to the gate openers to open the gate.

"Yes, Mister Guard!" as she runs off on the paved path towards the library.

The guard sighs as he says to the other guard "That's not my name…"

The other guard laughs as he comforts the other guard. "No worries bud, she doesn't remember mine either."

They both sigh as they signal the gate to be closed.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as Auria runs out of the view of the village the mana sparks show up again and start to absorb mana from the surroundings and cover Auria with a light barrier layer.

Auria sees the barrier and giggles "You guys she know when the right time is for this kind of stuff don't you. I don't need it during day time but thank you for caring anyways~"

As she says it the visible part of the barrier disappears from Auria's vision, but the sparks keep up the presence blocking portion of it so she doesn't get attacked by any monsters.

After 10 minutes of enjoying the scenery while running, she sees the library ahead. She sighs of relief as she was getting tired from running all the way, even though she normally comes here every morning she was too excited this one and ran instead of only after she exited the gate.

As she gets closer to the Library the door slowly creaks open and the librarian Monrose comes out to get her.

He chuckles as he shouts to her "What's the rush this morning Auria, you normally take your time "admiring the scenery" as you call it every more when you're late."

She pouts as she reaches the front of the library and gets to the librarian "Well I was excited today…"

The Librarian gives out a hearty laugh as he responds "I can't think of anything that would make you happier than just burying yourself in books."

Auria continues to pout as she says "Hmph! I won't tell you later then." Then she smiles and jumps up and pulls the librarian through the doors.

"Now let's go! I can't wait to finish the book from yesterday." She says enthusiastically

The librarian follows, and as soon as they enter the library, he snaps his fingers causing all of the lights within the library to light up.

"You still haven't taught me how to do that…" Auria says as she passes off the amazing feat as she's seen it every single day since she's started working.

The librarian chuckles as he shakes his head "It's not something I can teach, you'll be able to use it one day too. But if you manage to do it I'll probably never get the chance to see it happen."

Auria tilts her head "Why's that Monrose?"

"Let's just say it's too complicated for you right now, shall we Asu?" Monrose says as he chuckles" He says while patting her head.

Auria pouts "Okay…"

Monrose moves his hand and points at the section labeled 'Spirits and worldly beings'

"Let's have you work on that section today shall we?"

Auria nods "Is there something special in that section as well? Everything you give me a specific area there's always a surprise that happens. An illusion monster won't pop out of this one will it!?"

Monrose laughs hard as he remembers the moment "No. Of course not. That was just a product of you reading too hard last time. Although the book was a bit special, any other person who reads it wouldn't produce such a special effect. The most prominent effect that I've seen be produced by the last book was at most a light aura around the person and the book"

Monrose slowly lowers his laughter down to a chuckle. "I hope you'll rein down your immersion into the book, lest you summon one of the beings from this section."

Auria pouts and looks down slightly "I'll try not to get as immersed this time"

Monrose pats her head as he says "It's fine to get immersed, just don't read it into existence."

"Okay!" Auria says as she runs off to the 'Spirits and Worldly beings' area and starts to organize them by mana signature

Monrose sighs as he looks at Auria run off and mutters to himself "How does she even unintentionally summon those things.."

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Auria slowly loses track of her surroundings as she gets immersed in the books that she reads. Books detail things from cute spirit animals like the Thunder Essense Fox or Worldly beings like the species of greed beasts, which feed on human greed and consolidate themselves among humans.

She moves from book to book, reading them then putting them in the right place using the mana signatures. The mana signatures are like scents that animals can smell from each other, the difference is that if a human trains their eyes to be able to see it then they'll be able to tell what it is even if you physically disguise it as something.

Auria was taught this way of identifying books by Monrose because most book covers in the library were worn out and the titles and authors of the books were long gone and in some cases, even the content wouldn't tell you what the book is about.

So Auria had to use mana signatures. This makes organizing books easier, especially since Monrose labeled all the books with a mana signature that when looked at shows what number in the order the book is and what section it belongs in.

While Auria doesn't know how he does that, she does know that it is immensely helpful.

Slowly she goes through book by book through the entire section. As she goes through she sees one special book, what makes it so noticeable is the fact that the mana signature is massive. Compared to other books is almost 10 times larger, and the mana signature doesn't have the label of where the book goes and what section is from.

Auria picks up the book as if she was picking cabbage from a market and reads the title.

"The Past and the Consequences"

I hope nobody's too attached to the main character's name, I personally think the current one is too hard, so I'm making decisions to change it
