Rats in the Night

It had been an hour since I had entered the hole, and everything had been great. I had just cooked myself a great dinner and now eating it.

It would have been great if Nero had eaten with me, but he wanted to stay out.

Not that I blame him. He was inside the core for months and now that he got a chance; he wanted to stay out as much as he could.

A few minutes passed and I middle of eating when I saw Nero becoming alert.

'Father, the night had started changing,' he said. 

I stopped eating immediately and focused on sensing what Nero is sensing. For a few seconds, I sense nothing, before I started to sense it faintly, and as more time passed, I sense it more clearly.

I thought, I will have a normal night, but it did not seem like that would be the case.
