"So, you acknowledge that you know about the Library of Mages," I said.

"… Fine. Let's get out of here first." The chains wrapped around us and carried us out of the basement. "When you asked me about the Library of Mages I wanted to ignore you, maybe you would've stopped caring. But trying to break in?! If it were anywhere else, I wouldn't care, but there?! few more steps and you would've stepped into dozens of traps that could kill you!"

"…"

"Why do you even want to get inside?!"

"There is something inside we want to read," Emily said. She didn't seem to care that we were busted.

"God… you are not only putting yourself in danger but also me. I can see you are determined, I will only do it this one time, and this keeps quiet. So be glad! Now go back to your rooms! I will talk with you tomorrow."

With a flash 27 and the chains disappeared. He left us standing in front of the basement, not saying much we went back to our rooms. The next day started the same as usual, but after the first class 27 asked us to stay behind.

Out of nowhere he took out dozens of books and separated them into two piles. "This pile is for you Emily. Exams are in a month you have to pass at least one if you don't want trouble. Same goes for you, Dominque."

"You want us to pass exams that need four years to prepare?" I said. I may be smart, but that was too much.

"Like I said. You only need to pass one exam. Then I will think about telling you something on the Library." 27 said, it didn't look like he was willing to bargain, so I grabbed the books and left with Emily. We went to the cafeteria and got something to eat sitting there we talked about the options we had. Midway through our conversation, Travis showed up.

"Can I sit with you?" he asked. "My team will join in a bit if you don't mind.

"Sure."

Madison, Hannah, and Isabella joined us a few minutes later. Isabella was bright and nice as before. Madison kept ignoring everyone, and Hannah looked as arrogant as before. "You still eat like a monster," Travis said while looking at my food. Ever since I started to grow my soul the normal way again, my appetite increased to a crazy level.

"Well, at least I don't need to pay for food here."

"Right. What you think about the school so far? Do you like it?"

"So far it's ok. But I need to pass an exam in a month, which will take a lot from me." I said. But my words surprised Travis and the rest. Only Emily who was in the same situation as I didn't show any change.

"Why?" Travis asked.

"27 told us to. You could say we got into a bit of trouble. Right! What exam do you think is the easiest? You four been here for months now you should know."

"I guess, if you only have a month, then the Year one exam. You are in S Class so you can take them any time. Year one exam is a fight with another student, but the point of it is not to win but to show skill. You are plenty strong already, you only need to make a good impression now."

"…" 27 didn't specify what kind of exam we need to pass, he only said that the exams are in a month and that we need to pass one. This means that we won't need to study our asses off to pass a theory exam. "You are a genius, Travis!"

Now the only problem will be Emily, she may have a problem with the fight. We have a month deadline, so it should be ok if I train her up. I asked Ike about the exams and requested them to be held in 28 days.

Emily inherited Elemental Essence of the Raven Queen, she could increase it the same way other people with elemental essence, through meditating. During meditation elemental essence starts to grow as long as the mind is calm and empty. Some people are able to achieve that state of mind constantly, but those are as rare as feathers of a phoenix.

What I needed to do is to help Emily get better control over her power, and if possible, help her find other uses of her elemental essence. If all it can do is make feathers, then it would be useless.

Every day I would continue my training with Ike and Emily while helping her gain more control over her power. A week later I figured out how else she can use her power, I got inspiration while working on seals and putting parts of a seal together.

She could do the same with her feathers! Put them together to form something else. And if she manages to connect them together, rather than just put them close to each other… she will have a lot of room to grow stronger.

When I explained my idea to Emily, she didn't seem interested, but as the deadline was closer I wanted her odds to be as high as possible. First, I told her to join two feathers together. While she did that, I continued with my own training.

Currently, I was trying to keep control over the Gliding Blade with my eyes closed. If I can do that while keeping track of its location, then I would call it a success. But it proves itself to be harder to accomplish, I could tell the general location, which was better than nothing, but I needed to make it more specific.
