So after their wedding, they packed their things and moved to D City. Her Grandpa refused to go with them while she did not have a choice but to go.
Upon arrival at the airport, there were 3 luxurious cars waiting for them. Her Dad and Celine went into the red sports car. He tried to take her with them but Celine stopped him saying that she can take the 2nd car while the 3rd car was for their pieces of luggage. Her Dad was hesitant but she just smiled at him and did a thumbs up so he won't be worried.
Soon, the red sports car left. She ignored the pain she felt from how Celine treated me. She turned around to get into the car without noticing that someone was at her back.
"Oops", she said when she bumped into a hard chest. She looked up and saw a stern face looking down at her. She stepped back a few steps away to be able to see his face because he is way taller than her.
She was fifteen and she already knows how to appreciate the opposite sex. He is handsome yet he looked scary. He exudes the aura of a king. His deep-seated eyes caught his attention. His eyes are mysterious and seem to be able to look deep into someone's soul. She felt magnetized by his eyes.
"Do you like what you see?", he asked with a smirk on his face. She was about to say something but decided not to. She was scared by his presence. She just stared at him blankly. She started to feel her face becoming red from embarrassment.
"Hi there, I'm Jolo and this is my big brother Joseph. Welcome to D City and to our family", said a young lad who came from behind this man called Joseph. He was wearing a welcoming and friendly smile. His eyes glistened when he smiles. He has the same features with Joseph except that Joseph is taller than him and kind of masculine with a very manly aura. Jolo has a softer and boyish aura. He looks the same age as her. At fifteen, Christine was a bit taller than the others in her age group but when compared to Joseph, she looked so short. She can't help but throw glances at Joseph who looked so serious and impatient.
She smiled back at Jolo and replied, "I'm Christine, nice to meet you". She glanced at Joseph and saw him gazing at her as if he was scrutinizing her. She smiled at him meekly but only got a blank stare. "he is not friendly", she thought.
"We have to go now", Joseph commanded and walked toward the car.
"Yeah let us go, we'll have a chat on our way home", Jolo said.
"He is not in a good mood", Jolo whispered in her left ear, held her left hand and led her to the car. He assisted her in getting in the car, he was gentle. Joseph went to the driver seat while Christine and Jolo were at the backseat. Jolo was a blabber. He asked so many questions like how old she was, where she studied and what are her hobbies.
"I'm sixteen and big brother is 22. He just graduated from college and now he manages the family business", he said with a smile.
They got along instantly. He is like a brother to her. They both like listening to music and watching movies. He made her feel welcomed. Although Joseph did not say anything but he made her feel uncomfortable. He did not verbally reject her but did not welcome her either. His expression was blank and he was silent all throughout the ride to their mansion.
"Well anyway, at least I have Jolo. I won't feel homesick at all", she thought while stealing glances at Joseph.
Jolo took his phone out and played a song and they started to sing along.
"I found a love for me
Darling just dive right in
And follow my lead" I sing along while holding bottled water like a microphone.
"Wow, your voice is angelic", exclaimed Jolo and sang along with her.
Well I found a girl beautiful and sweet
I never knew you were the someone waiting for me
'Cause we were just kids when we fell in love
Not knowing what it was
I will not give you up this time
But darling, just kiss me slow, your heart is all I own
And in your eyes you're holding mine....
"You can sing well", I told Jolo.
Jolo smiled and said " I play guitar, I will teach you".
"I would love that", I smiled.
They continued to sing, not noticing how gloomy Joseph's face was.
"Hey, we're almost there. I'll give you a tour later", Jolo happily said to her.
"Really? Aren't you busy?", she glanced at Joseph before replying to Jolo.
" Not at all, its school break and there is nothing to do at home," he said.
" You have to go with Dr. Mendez and help him with Princess' delivery", Joseph said in a cold voice.
" I thought you said you will be helping him?", asked Jolo.
"I have something more important to do. Besides, she can have a tour later, " he said, looking at me from the rear view mirror. She can see something flashed as their eyes met but quickly disappeared.
"It's ok Jolo, we can do it some other time", feeling upset with how Joseph treated her. " I have a name you know", she silently uttered.
"Alright, I promise you, I will give you a tour", Jolo assured her and casually put his arms around her shoulder.
"Who is Princess?", she asked him in a low voice.
"Oh, she's one of our horses and she is about to give birth", he whispered back.
At that instant, she can feel Joseph's stares at her which seems like daggers piercing. "What is wrong with him?", she thought to herself.
"You have horses?", she exclaimed excitedly.
"Yeah, and we will do horseback riding", Jolo replied happily.
"Really? Promise?"
"Promise"
