: A Man And A Woman

Min Jae was furious as he entered the threshold. Out of frustration, he hastily removed his tie and hurled it on the sofa. His hand was shaking as he opened the first few buttons of his shirt, revealing his perfectly sculpted chest. Min Jae breathed heavily. He was very angry that even his lips began to tremble.

His phone rang loudly that it echoed within the large walls of the room. Without even bothering to look at the caller's ID, Min Jae answered it.

"Sir, we already have in our possession the CCTV footage from the hospital. Due to the inclement weather, the clips were intermittent and unclear. Nevertheless, the team and I were able to trace that Mrs. Lee boarded a blue Bugatti Chiron." Secretary Yoo briefly reported.

Min Jae was supposed to depart for an overseas business trip to settle some conflicts that required his involvement. However, he ended up missing the flight to help Eun Young get home the last minute. They immediately returned to the hospital. But upon their arrival, Eun Young wasn't there anymore.

The fact that Min Jae risked this trip for that woman really bothered him. But after finding out that she had already went on her own, f*** it frustrated him the most! Hell, he couldn't even recall how he ended up deciding to help her in the first place! Has he gone mad?!

"Anything else you're not telling me?" He growled deeply.

Secretary Yoo hesitated at first. But knowing Min Jae, he would rather face his wrath now than deal with terrible consequences later. "B-Boss, Mrs. Lee was fetched by a man." He swallowed.

Secretary Yoo's voice trembled but nonetheless, he continued. "Based on the clip, the last she was seen was half an hour ago. She entered the car with a man but because he was holding an umbrella, the CCTV wasn't able to capture the man's identity."

Min Jae's expression glowered. His eyes darkened and his jaw tensed upon hearing Secretary Yoo's words. Eun Young went with a man? He scoffed. Placing his free hand on his hip, he sighed exasperatedly.

"Well, then find the fu***** blue car!" He roared before abruptly ending the call. He threw the phone on the sofa.

Damn it! All that trouble for nothing! Who would've thought that Eun Young was the type of woman who would actually go with random men in the middle of the night? That little... If only he knew beforehand that it would result to this, he wouldn't have hesitated to embark that stupid plane!

Min Jae helped himself with a glass of whiskey to soothe his anger. The cold alcohol left a warm sensation down his throat. For a moment, it calmed him. It brought a sudden surge of comfort to him. Gulping down the last of the liquor, the sound of a car arriving was finally heard from outside.

Min Jae gently placed his glass on the coffee table before standing up to look out the tall window, just in time to witness the silhouette of a man and woman alight from the vehicle.

"Thank you again for the ride." Eun Young said out of courtesy to Suk Ju.

It took them a while before finally arriving at their destination due to the sudden detour. Albeit the longer travel time, they were still able to find their way through the other route--all thanks to the application they used and not Suk Ju's navigation skills. He warmly smiled and nodded in response to Eun Young.

"Will you be okay on your way back? Why don't you stay for a hot cup of tea before you go?" Eun Young offered. "It's the least I can do to repay you for troubling yourself." She added.

He did, after all, went out of his way to help her. She doesn't really like the feeling of being indebted to anyone so the least she could do was to kindly offer him tea.

"Nah! I'm good." Suk Ju declined.

Eun Young was about to further argue and convince him into staying when a car suddenly came racing down the road. The flying car sent the puddles splattering around. Luckily, Suk Ju instinctively pulled Eun Young close to his chest and blocked her from getting splashed on by the cold water.

Eun Young was left wide-eyed and flabbergasted by the turn out of events. When she looked up, she was even more surprised to see that Suk Ju was very close to her. Eun Young awkwardly jerked away.

"Oh, sorry." Suk Ju muttered as he embarassedly touched the back of his neck. Eun Young could only blink in response.

The two were silent for while. This time, Suk Ju was the first to break the ice. "Anyway, I should go. It's already late. My boss will skin me alive if I don't come on time to work tomorrow." He humored.

Eun Young smiled and nodded before bidding goodbye. "Be careful on the road... and try not to get lost!" She jokingly reminded.

Suk Ju chuckled as he turned around to leave. With his back was facing her, Eun Young instantly noticed the large patch of water that dampened his coat. It must've been because he protected her from getting wet. Eun Young felt guilty as she realized that he helped her again.

"Wait!" She cried. Before Suk Ju could turn around, Eun Young gently placed her scarf on his back. "You might catch a cold. I'm pretty sure your boss will also skin you alive if you ditch work because you're sick." She wittily explained.

He glanced at her sideways. "Thanks." He casually said. He flashed her a warm smile before finally boarding his car. Suk Ju watched as Eun Young enter the house first as he started the car's engine.

Shaking his head in disapproval, he sighed. Min Jae, that bastard... he clearly doesn't see what he's about to lose.
