Part 5 – Shane's new game console
Lillian Grey finished her breakfast quickly. She could only eat less from staying up all night at the airport. However, she gave company to her father and his friend, who's extending his staying longer than she anticipated. Lillian drank coffee while going through her phone and replying to several Christmas wishes. Just as she responded to Jenna, sending her the holiday greetings, Shane called her.
Lillian collected her mug to excuse from the table before answering the call. Edwin let her go to get completely immersed in his friend's story. The guys were planning for their next fishing trip.
Apparently, Edwin's friend fought with his son. It went pretty bad for the poor old guy. Having no one to talk to, he requested his fishing partner, Edwin, to stay over after their dinner to teach his family a lesson. Edwin tried convincing him to return home, but his friend never submitted.
Edwin had no choice but to let the guy spend the night while he called the family to inform them. It was only during breakfast Edwin confronted about the fight, and his friend finally spoke.
Edwin let the old guy pour his heart out as he listened attentively.
Meanwhile, Lillian stepped onto the front porch. She had already accepted Shane's call to put him on hold while she gets settled down on the steps.
"Hey, buddy! Merry Christmas!" she finally greeted.
"Wow! Lillian! Merry- Merry Christmas! Man, is this for real? I'm getting a new game console- and it's the latest- it's awesome! I can't wait for to- well. I'm going to test this bad boy right now-" Shane exclaimed out in joy.
"Calm down! So, do you like your Christmas present?" Lillian hushed him to inquire.
"I do! I do very much! Thank you, Lillian!" Shane screamed in glee.
"Haha- I'm glad! So, where's mine?"
Shane stuttered abruptly, admitting how Lillian's present is still on its way from across the world. Lillian wondered if it's something special since it is traveling thousands of miles for her. Besides, she was already relieved to hear Shane liking her gift.
The conversation lasted short as Shane desperately wanted to test his game console soon and play some games. Lillian warned him not to forget his family dinner, which is customarily celebrated in the evening every year on Christmas.
Lillian ended the call to his aid before hearing the excitement in his voice for one last. Shane kept praising Lillian until the end.
