Chapter 7

"Heng, we should not do this! This is imperial palace ah!" Begged Xiao Yi desperately. His master mischievousness is on a whole different level ah!

It has been three months ever since Xiao Yi follow Heng. He whom used to be quiet is now like a nagging grandmother. His master is too brazen ah! Like now, they followed Feng Jiu to the imperial palace for The Empress birthday banquet but instead of docilely joining other noble ladies, she sneakily excused herself and changed to male clothes and choose to sneak out exploring the palace ah!

"Xiao Yi ah! If you keep talking, there bound to be someone noticing me! You need to be quiet so I can explore the palace easily" Said Heng in low voice . Her plan is only to sight seeing ah! Watching ladies playing music or making poetry is boring ah! "If you keep quiet, I will be back quick so ssst!" Added by Heng while putting her right pointed finger in front of her mouth.

"Heng, we do not know who live in the area.. if we get exposed... Heng? Hengggg!!" Xiao Yi seeing Heng jumped over the wall leaving him can only accept his fate. Heng knowing the trouble if Xiao Yi keeps following her directly leave him there. It's a rare chance ah! She is confident with her ability she will not get exposed.

Few days ago, Feng Jiu asked her if she wants to join her to the imperial palace. Of course, she will not refused! She has explored every single path and corner of the capital city leaving only the imperial palace so how could she even had an idea to say no to that?

Feng Jiu and Li Wei told her that she will be introduced as their adopted daughter so no one will slighted her in the capital city. She didn't think much about it so she simply agreed with the arrangement.

"Really pretty!" Said Heng. In front of her, there is a kind of forest full of bamboo trees whereas in the middle there is a small pavilion look a like. When she moved closer, she realized it was a hot spring pool! She thought to herself that the owner definitely knows who to enjoy his/her life ah. With sparkly eyes, she removes her shoes and socks then gently soaked her legs inside the pool. "So gooodddd!" said Heng while closing her eyes. It has been a long time ah!

While enjoying the hot spring, she started to reflect what happened in the past three months ever since she lived in this world. One thing she was still shocked about is her physical changes, she noticed her physics is her 16 years old self. She did not realized it before as she was too busy surviving in the mountain. Fortunately, her skills did not decrease much due to the physics. She still curious if there will be any changes within her she will find out more in the future, her grandpa is a real genius ah!

She also found out that Li Wei is actually the younger brother of the current emperor. Surprisingly, not like any other stories she read, these brothers work hand in hand to manage affairs. She somehow think of them as president and Vice President in her era.

The current emperor only has one wife. Based on what she heard, the current emperor very much in love with his wife and refused to have any concubines. He has two sons at the moment, the first one is 20 years old while the youngest one is still 15 years old. She heard the first one has made many achievements while the second one is starting to follow his older brother. Feng Jiu told her previously that both sons did not have any ambitions to become an emperor which gives the Emperor a big headache.

She found the situation pretty funny as it is completely different than most of the stories she heard hence why she is getting more curious to explore the palace and to know the family. Realizing she had been staying for too long, she was planning to wear her shoes again to continue her adventure. But soon after, she noticed a strong gaze towards her which made her stop her movement. She quickly took her stuffs and move behind a big tree to cover herself.

Realizing the other party is not going to expose him/herself. She quickly said, "I did not mean to disturb anyone. I was just doing sightseeing."

The man who has been observing Heng chuckled, "No lady except you is daring enough to explore imperial palace." The he added, "You should go now, there will be more guards coming to this area soon so it will be difficult to pass through them. There is an empty courtyard nearby the gathering place but I suppose you know where it is. Quickly change as the banquet will starts soon."

Did not expect someone knows her identify, her body got stiffed hearing his comments. After recovering her composure, she quickly wear her shoes and run back to the gathering place while saying "Thank you. Next time we meet, come forward so I know to whom I am talking with " to the man.

The man seeing her figure slowly disappearing curved his lips up. He supposed to meet someone here and did not expected to see a man freely playing around in his private courtyard. He was planning to capture him until he saw the face and realized he was the girl he saw months ago in the street. If not for a fact that he is waiting for a visitor, he will not shoo her away. It's fine, he is sure he will meet her again in the future.

"Heng, you are finally back!" Said Xiao Yi. He was feeling jittery all this time waiting for her to come back. When he informed Feng Jiu, she only laughed about it and tell him to wait here ah!

"Quickly change ah, the banquet will start soon." Said Xiao Yi while shoving her dress to her hands.

Heng pats his shoulder to reassure him everything will be fine before swiftly went to the empty room to change back to the dress prepared by Feng Jiu. "Xiao Yi, Can you come and help me for the hair?" Asked Heng helplessly, wearing dress is easy for her now but hairstyle is a whole different world for her! Fortunately, she has Xiao Yi who has been diligently learning from Xiao Mu. Once done, both move towards the gathering hall.
