Slow poison of your being near

killed my awareness and esteem

called you my backbone so had to bear

when you break me I can't scream

Gave you most innocent heart of mine

wished to share your joy and fears

the scars you gave are more combine

than what I received from others in tears

Heard that world is not a happy place

I found it foolish, laughed with you

broken now when I think and trace

was an idiot, you were smarter too
