Chapter 125: Troublesome Trio 4

Jun Liu didn't know what happened with the trio and Wu Chen, but he had a feeling that the trio was up to something not right.

"Yo! Ah Jun, Yue Yue. Let's give a toast to the birthday girl" Yi Fei was the one talking.

Before they could toast, Wu Chen came beside Yi Fei and took away the wine glass from her. Then, Wu Chen whispered something to her ear, and Yi Fei nodded in understanding.

"John, it's all depending on you now. Don't disappoint me. May the force be with you. Live long and prosper" Yi Fei tapped her chest and did the hand sign of Vulcan Salute. Wu Chen put the glass of wine on the table and held Yi Fei's hand. The lovebird walked towards the VIP table.

John sat on Yi Fei's seat next to Ying Yue, so NaNa had to take John's place beside Jun Liu. John whispered something to Ying Yue and excitement could be seen from her eyes. John and Ying Yue kept on whispering to each other, and it made Jun Liu felt left out.

"So, are you going to make a toast for me?" NaNa asked out of the blue. Yi Fei and John told her that Ying Yue and Jun Liu wanted to make a toast for her and the duo brought her to their table because of that.

Jun Liu turned to face NaNa, and his eyes fell on the rose necklace on her neck. Now that Jun Liu could see more precise, he had to admit that the necklace was made for NaNa. He thought that NaNa might look better with a ring – the matching ring.

"Is there anything you want? We'll toast to that" Jun Liu did not have the slightest idea of what made NaNa came to their table.

"Let's toast so that NaNa will wear a ring soon" John spoke out of the blue. Jun Liu thought that John wouldn't pay much attention to them since he was busy gossiping with Ying Yue. It turned out that John had a spare ear for eavesdropping.

Ying Yue and John raised their glass and were ready to clink their drink, but the MC of the event called NaNa to come in front for the cake cutting ceremony.

"Darling, don't forget to make a wish. Also, you need to blow up all the candles at one go. Alright?" John was speaking in a serious tone.

NaNa walked to the front, getting ready to cut the cake. Jun Liu had his eyes on her all the time. He wished that all of her wishes would come true.

The intense stare was caught by John who observed Jun Liu from the beginning. As a professional gossiper, John trained himself to eavesdrop on his surrounding while he was doing something else. Of course, he heard Jun Liu asked NaNa about what she wanted in her life.

"Ah Jun, do you have a girlfriend?" John blurted out a rhetorical question. He knew that Jun Liu was single because Yi Fei was adamant on playing cupid for both NaNa and Jun Liu.

Jun Liu didn't answer him; he pretended as if John does not exist.

"NaNa is single too. Just saying" John was not upset when Jun Liu didn't answer his question. John turned to Ying Yue.

"Yue Yue, my housemate during my university years, was a teacher in your school right? Is he still single? He is exactly the type of guy that NaNa likes. If he's still single, should we introduce them?" John was talking to Ying Yue, but his eyes darted towards Jun Liu once in a while.

When Jun Liu heard that John wanted to introduce NaNa to someone, he knew what John was trying to do. He was not going to fall into his trap.

Suddenly everyone was quiet. Even John and Ying Yue stopped whispering. All of the guests were looking to where NaNa was. It turned out that the MC of the party asked NaNa to share something.

NaNa coughed a few times."I want to thank everyone for coming and celebrating my birthday.

Well…" Before NaNa could finish her sentence, the MC asked what would she wish this year.

Everything about the party was arranged by the event planning company including the MC of the night. The MC of the night was a young man in his middle 20. When he talked, he couldn't get his eyes off NaNa.

Jun Liu disliked that MC guy.

After being asked about her wish, NaNa was quiet for a moment. There were a lot of things she wanted this year regarding family, friendship, career, and relationship. She didn't know which wish she should share first.

The audience could see that NaNa was thinking hard in front of them. Then suddenly, a petite girl came to NaNa and whispered something to NaNa's ear. Then, NaNa had this relieved expression on her face.

"I want to tell you, but as you all know, my wish won't come true if I tell it to other people. So, I think I should keep it to myself." NaNa gave thumbs up to the petite girl.

Ying Yue wondered if what NaNa said was true, so she turned to John to ask him about it.

"What do you think sister Fei whispered to NaNa-Sama? NaNa-Sama seemed happy. Is it true that if we tell other people about our birthday wish, it won't come true?" Ying Yue asked innocently.

"Yes. My teacher told me that if we tell our birthday wish to people, it won't come true." John was serious while explaining what his teacher told him about birthday wishes.

Jun Liu felt that the line 'my teacher told me' was familiar. Then he remembered about what Yi Fei told him about arguing. If he was not mistaken, Yi Fei told him that whoever argued a lot, they'll end up together.

Previously, when Yi Fei told Jun Liu about it, Jun Liu thought that Yi Fei made that up. Now, with all that happening between NaNa and him, Jun Liu believed that Yi Fei was right after all. So, without him realizing, he asked a question to John.

"So, what can we do so that our birthday wish would come true?" Jun Liu's question was too sudden that it rendered John speechless.

How the hell should John know about what can they do to make birthday wishes come true? John was acting as if he was thinking hard about the question when in reality, he was thinking hard on how to bluff. He was no Yi Fei; only Yi Fei knows of such things because she reads all kinds of book.

John still remembered the day he asked Yi Fei about the genre in Japanese Manga. Yi Fei told him about all kind of genre; Shoujo, Shounen, Shoujo-ai, Shounen-ai, Yuri, Yaoi, and a lot of other genres John couldn't remember of. Yi Fei tried to rope him into anime as well by baiting him with a BL manga but thank God John was not into reading.

"According to Yi Fei, one must tell their wish ONLY to the person that they like. Their wish will come true if they do that". John stressed on the ONLY word.

This time, Jun Liu did not have any doubt over that because one could think logically about it. Like for example, a couple. If the girl told the boy of her wish, the boy must be trying to fulfill her wish. Therefore, the chance of her wish to come true is high.

When Jun Liu thought about it, he felt that Yi Fei was a sensible lady and that he must trust her more next time.

Jun Liu wondered if NaNa likes him or if her level of feeling towards him was only at the flirting level. What's a better way to test her other than asking her about her wish?

Jun Liu decided that he'll ask NaNa about her birthday wish. If NaNa told him about it, Jun Liu would continue pursuing her. If she didn't, then Jun Liu will only play along with her.

And again, Ying Yue was curious if what John said was true. Ying Yue had so much respect for Yi Fei by now because, for her, Yi Fei knew about a lot of things. Ying Yue wanted to be like Yi Fei too. Ying Yue asked John whether what he said was true or not.

John leaned towards Ying Yue and whispered in her ear.

"It's a trap."
