A Troublesome Skill

"So cold!" As soon as Ed was teleported to the third floor, an intense feeling of coldness assaulted him. He looked around to find a completely white view. Snow was covering the ground, sky, and air. The third floor was like an ice continent. Cold, and white.

Ed recalled the three monsters. He also activated a little of his fire magic to help him cope with the sudden drop in temperature. It would be silly if he were to die because of a cold. Raikou didn't seem to be bothered at all by the coldness. Ed didn't know if it was because of his thick coat of fur, or because of his cultivation level. It was known that those who reach Heavenly Establishment attain a certain level of elemental resistance. But Raikou was still far from it.

"Let's explore the floor for a while" Ed and Raikou walked side by side. The snow was becoming a hindrance, so both of them simply used Fire magic to make it melt. But then, the melted water annoyed them as well. 'This is troublesome…' Ed was finally tired from it. He got Raikou to go into his shadow. Then, he hovered above the ground. Ed didn't really find the chance to fly ever since he trained his KI. But now, this ability was very useful.

While hovering, Ed sensed some presence under the snow just in front of him. He knew his senses were sharp, so something was definitely there. Ed humored whatever was there and walked right up to it. Suddenly a gigantic white figure emerged. The figure was almost five meters tall. A giant club was being held in its hand. As soon as it emerged, it swung its club at Ed. This monster was all too familiar for Ed. Legends about its existence filled his last world. The being attacking Ed is a Yeti.

The Yeti's cultivation is King Establishment level 3. It wasn't anything special cultivation wise. However, its strength was considered one of the highest. No one would dare claim its strength was higher than a Yeti's, at the same level.

"This will be a good training!" A sly smile appeared on Ed's face as he dodged the club. The Yeti was all strength and no strategy. This type of monster was not suited for training Observation Haki. This was not the case for Armament Haki. A strong monster means strong damage. Ed would definitely benefit if he trains with such a being.

Ed deactivated all his defenses. He wasn't using Nen or Seikuken. Instead, this time he was going to try and turn his spirit into armor. This was a risky thing to do. If he messed up, he might lose his life. But Ed was willing to go the extra mile in order to improve. He couldn't leave things to fate anymore. Ed is now willing to grab his future by his own hands.

Ed closed his eyes to concentrate. He was doing his best to get a clear image of his 'spirit'. However, it was easier said than done. The first attack of the Yeti sent him flying. 'It really is strong' taking the attack head-on left Ed a little disoriented. This went on for a while. Ed was being sent flying around like a ball. 'I did it!' Ed felt something forming around him as the club made contact with his skin. The club was shattered instantly. Ed opened his eyes in joy to see his improvement. Only to notice that an aura was surrounding his body. He had mistakenly activated Ken in place of Haki.

"Aaaaargh! Enough" Ed was now mad. He was impatient, and it wasn't a good thing to be. He focused some Fire magic on his finger and kept condensing it. After a little, he slashed with his finger while releasing his magic. A laser-like beam shouts out and split the Yeti in half. Ed didn't even turn around to store the body. He was both angry and disgusted at the same time. 'I should calm down' Ed knew that he wasn't acting rationally. His temper became severe right after waking up from his coma in the capital of Scale kingdom.

"System could this be a result of me getting the berserk skill?" Ed could guess what went wrong with. The only thing that changed was his getting the skill.

[Yes. The skill activates when the host experiences bad emotions. So it affects the mentality of beings that acquire such skill. Many humans became a monster after losing themselves to similar skills]

"Can I get rid of it somehow?" After hearing the explanation, Ed didn't want to keep such a skill. He was already skeptical about it, but now he wanted nothing to do with it.

[Unfortunately, this is a skill the host got on his own.] Ed understood that he couldn't do anything about it. He could only try to control his emotions. 'Maybe meditation will help' Ed thought to himself.

Ed opened his Map and continued hovering around. At one point, he noticed some blue dots surrounding a red one. The battle was occurring a couple of kilometers away from him. Ed increased his speed and wanted to check out what was happening. The blue dots looked like some young cultivators. The red dot was a beautiful woman. The woman's skin was snow white, and her lips were blue and her hair pitch black. Many people would simply think of her as an extremely attractive woman. But those who are experienced would be able to sense the extremely evil QI she was releasing.

'That's a Yuki-Onna. Didn't think I would be able to see the ghost snow woman in my life.' Ed was familiar with this type of monster. Part of the Japanese mythology of Yokai, the Yuki-Onna is a dangerous monster not to be trifled with. But in a cultivation world, such monsters are to be hunted. The group of young cultivators seemed to be doing very well for themselves. The Yuki-Onna is only King Establishment level 5. All of them were at a higher level than her. In a matter of seconds after Ed arrived, the monster was defeated.

Before Ed could turn around to leave, he noticed that the young cultivators were being teleported away. 'That's the floor boss!' Ed couldn't believe what was happening. It takes a week for a floor boss to reappear. Now, he lost his chance to go to the next floor because he misjudged the Yuki-Onna's value in this floor. She was in the middle of nowhere, giving her the impression of a small fry rather than a floor boss.
