Chapter 1Subordination system??

* Groan * * Crack *

I groaned as I sat up and stretched, hearing my joints crack as I did so. I opened my eyes only to shut them just as quickly in pain because of the blinding light shown in my face. As I waited for my eyes to stopped burning I felt around me for my glasses only to feel a solid surface around me, no pillow, no sheet, no extremely soft bed that you were proud off...just the cold hard ground.

I frowned as I try to remember if I fell asleep on the floor before a more drastic thought surfaced in my mind making my body tense as a cold air blew on my neck further proving that I wasn't covered but the pain and uncomfortableness in my body chased away those thoughts

' was I kidnapped? ' I internally pondered before I shook away the ridiculous thought, I was just a average nobody who stuck to themselves, how could I offend someone enough to be kidnapped.

' what if though'

'no that doesn't make sense'

' but if you were you have no way to fight back '

' even if I was I could just wait for someone to rescue me '

' scoff, you have no friends nor any family, who's gonna notice you're missing to even call someone for you '

' I...I '

Even as I tried to tried to think logically about my situation, that thought still haunted my mind , like whispers of death causing despair to creep into my very being causing my breathing to start to become hurried before a cool feeling washed over my mind instantly forcing my chaotic feeling and thoughts to calm.

Taking a deep breath, I tried to slow my heart beat back to normal, while self hypnotizing myself to stay calm and do everything I could to survive, another day alive is another to strive. I repeatedly told myself until I felt my body relax.

I was about to open my eyes to scope out my surrounding when I remembered how that previously turned out, dusting my hands on my pants, I brought my hands to my eyes and covered them. When I was sure they ever covered I slowly opened my eyes, only to have to squint as the light shined through the gap in my fingers making me internally wonder what the hell could make such a bright light.

I don't know how much time ended up passing but my eyes ended up somewhat adjusting, not enough for clear vision but enough for me to make out what was a few feet ahead of me. I looked around and noticed I was in a old dilapidated cell. I say this because the only thing left of the cell was the gate.

I strained to pull myself from the floor having to brace myself on the wall as I took an unsteady step forward, only to slip and shit my forehead on a protruding stone. Disorienting me as I fell to my knees, grabbing my head in pain as I felt my palms getting wet with my blood, trying to stand once more I found the room spinning causing me to stumble forward into the gate making it collapse with a thud kicking up a cloud of dust.

" fuck!! " I couldn't help but curse in frustration, not even realizing how different my voice was compared to how it was normally. Rolling off the gate back on the floor, I stared at what was left of the roof, the light not even affecting my vision as much as before but I was to out of it to even notice.

I felt my eyelids grow heavy and I struggled to stay awake, I bit my tongue to stimulate myself since I had no way to know where I was and falling asleep was dangerous. I found my body becoming numb and the sleepiness became even stronger as my mouth filled with blood, I was sure if I bit any harder I would bite off piece of my tongue.

' dammit, get up!!!!, don't sleep !!! ' I cried internally as my body failed to heed any of my commands making that feeling of despair grow once more as the whispers of death thundered in my mind....

When I was about to give up, a cold robotic voice sounded in my mind and I felt that cool refreshing feeling once more making my eyes snap open and I started to regain feeling in my body as the uncomfortable feeling started to disappear as well

[ Host body has finally completed 100% fusion with new body ]

My eyes widened in realization as I heard what the voice said, that would explain the painful and foreign feeling I had when I woke up but as 1 question was answered several more entered my mind. Just as I was about to speak I heard the voice once more

[ Purging the host of any defects and healing all injuries, returning the host to his peak form ]

Just as the voice stopped a warm feeling washed over my body then nothing, feeling confused about the situation I was about touch the wound on my forehead, I started having this itchy feeling all over my body making me shocked as I now realized how injured I truly was, it's a miracle I'm still alive

[ it is not a miracle, the beings of this world have a much higher vitality than those of your world ]

The cold robotic voice interrupted my thoughts before I noticed to strangeness of it's sentence

' this world? ' I asked? Trying to ascertain if I heard....no thought correctly

[ you are no longer on earth Matthew, welcome to Rupungea ] the voice answered in the same tone

I was speechless for a period of time before I felt myself calm once more, I wasn't to surprised considering the bright light I saw was from the two suns shining through the hole in the cell wall but maybe some part of me was hoping that it was all in my mind

Sighing, I sat up and looked at my body, only to see skin much to pale to ever be mine before I remembered that this is a new body, there was no mirror around so I couldn't see myself but considering that my pajamas were barely fitting on this body I knew I was much bigger.....pulling down my boxers.....much bigger....

Shaking away the foolish thoughts, I spoke internally

' am I qualified to know why I am here? ' I asked curiously, I read enough novels to know what goes and what doesn't and I was proven correct when it answered

[ no ]

' what do you do? ' I asked after shrugging my shoulders at the expected reply. What you thought I was about to get hysterical and start bitching? if the being who brought me here wanted to kill me I'd be dead, they brought my soul to another dimension, so killing me should be much simpler. Might as well make the most of this life before things go to shit after all. I couldn't go anywhere with Corona happening anyway.

Status:-

Subordinate System

Name: Elija Whit ( Matthew Forde )

Age: 23

Titles: none

Experience:- [None]

Job: Boss [ Permanently active ]( Level 1/10) [ empty slot ]

Cultivation : none [0/100]

Subordinates: [0]

Skills: [0]

Money: none

Raising my eyebrow in surprise at what I saw ' cultivation with game elements huh, cliche but beggars can't be choosers.

' how can I gain experience? how can I gain skills? '

[ you have to gain subordinates ] the system replied coldly, making me deadpan at the explanation before I realized something which made me pale before I stuttered out a question

' you don't mean that I can only gain strength through subordinates ' I asked praying that it'd correct me and call me wrong

[ yes host ]

My body stiffened when I heard it's reply....you're probably wondering why I'm in this state? that's because hiding behind someone goes against my very being, not to say I want to be a warrior charging into battles head first but the very thought of being at someone else's mercy chills my very soul

[ worry not host, you gain experience whenever you gain new subordinates, your subordinates advance in strength or they kill another human or beast. Another benefit of having the system is that whoever swears to serve you can never betray you so it doesn't matter how pathetically weak you are ] said the system

[ Another benefit being that with the system your body can surpassed human limits in terms of skills. No matter how high someone's cultivation they can never surpass master stage while you host can reach god stage in any skill your subordinate knows instantly]

[ So hurry up host and find subordinates before you die !! ]

Cold sweat drenched my back as I heard the systems chilling words. I propped up against the wall and tried to process the information the system input into my mind and as I did I felt like cursing someone. Books make cultivation seem so badass but it seems to forget to mention how weak mortals are in comparison to cultivators. Working it out in my head, fucking Captain America is only as strong as a stage 3 Blood fighter!!!!!

While I was freaking out internally I suddenly heard footsteps coming towards me and my body tense and I looked around for a weapon before I found a loose brick and I rushed to wall to ambush whoever came in, not the smartest of ideas but hey it's that or die ass up

Breathing as slowly as I could to hide as much as my presence as I could, my ears focused on the steps helping my judge the distance, only now did I realize how strong my senses became

' I have to check this out later if I survive ' I thought internally before I heard the panting of someone before I heard a loud thud making me wonder if they collapsed. Taking a chance to peep out, I looked down to find a bloodied girl collapsed in front of the cell next to mine making me freeze

' is this the mighty plot armour? '

GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions be known. Thank you.
