You're totally right Oscar’s transition did happen quickly, and I see now that it could’ve used a bit more time to let readers connect with him before things shifted. The intention was always to bring Oscar back in a big way, and Chapter 19 will begin explaining exactly what happened, why he disappeared, and how he’s changed since. Ethan’s introduction was meant to contrast with Oscar, but I definitely agree it would've been stronger if we had more time to feel Oscar’s presence first. I’m planning to add some flashback sequences and perspective shifts soon that will give more insight into both characters and tie the arcs together better. I hope it’ll all click soon ta you again for sticking with the story and pointing this out!.
