This novel would be perfect if not for the dense mc isekai side of the protagonist
No, I have not written this at all and unlike other Novels of the same kind, MC is neither weak nor passive ... Some choices are questionable but nothing that makes him look like a loser and from how he is progressing I never think he will be.
So like Victor he should have a power up being a guardian connected not only to the prophetess but also to the tree itself .... He is also using the Falkrona identity and Orlin who owns his blood has awakened that bloodline ... Perhaps he too will awaken what is rightfully his and become a complete monster finally, there are several asses to kick ... I can't wait ... Keep it up author, it's getting more and more interesting [img=update]
In recent chapters the relationship with Celeste develops even more and there is a precise understanding of why he feels certain emotions and why he tries to ignore them. I believe that with recent events (in privileged chapters) the MC will really have to face itself and understand who it really is instead of continuing to run away trying to stay in the dark. It is his only trait that has never progressed but the author had already said that both in the 2 game and in the 3 the MC would have undergone a turning point so I think it will happen before the end of the third part of the second game ... We just have to wait
It is now a bit that there is no improvement in the MC both on the power side (blocked at the 8 ascension by 200 chapters now which apparently is common to all its peers) and on the character side where its way of relating to women it has never changed since chapter 1. All the relationships in which he is involved are guided by events and never by his will see how Layla discovered his past, the engagement with Elizabeth who has not yet had the courage to face, the relationship with mary where she seems to have fallen in love after losing her etc. I hope it improves at least in this respect because it seems that he must always find a reason to curb his emotions and this makes him stand in par with the classic dense isekai protagonist.
Normally when the story is not yet advanced but has both qualities and defects I would leave 4 stars but in this case the qualities are much superior and therefore I leave 5 stars. I start by saying that for lovers of the genre this is a candidate to be one of the best novels on the platform. Starting from the protagonist I can say that he can certainly improve but he is certainly not the worst I have seen in this type of novel (some choices that made me criticize are explained in the following chapters as his anger for the demonic beasts). The characterization of the characters is well done and the interactions between them have an excellent rhythm not blocking the narrative but giving it push. All the situations that are created are well described and even the environment in which they take place can be viewed with a few simple words without overdoing it. Fighting and skills are a strong point as they are really well done. The description of the world is still bland but some clues have already made it clear that there is much more than the academy to discover. If you are undecided whether or not to read this novel, do it as you will not regret it. Now some negative traits at least from my point of view ... SPOILER 1) The MC physique that makes it OP should be explained more deeply otherwise you cannot understand how it manages to win in certain situations. Perhaps an initial chapter which explains both this and the various ranks, rank of skills, his contract with Lumi, etc. could facilitate it all; 2) In some cases the choices of the MC are truly questionable especially with the antihero TAG .... I am not talking about the choice to go and fight the demonic beasts during the academic competition as his anger towards them is understood by the short backstory that is described later but of other choices see how he does not try in the least to take for himself the dungeon where the protagonists they will have a power up, the refusal to be a disciple of the strongest sorceress only because otherwise he would have to leave his academy (he is dying and she could help him immediately instead of waiting for years for a dragon heart) or the refusal to be a disciple of Zeva only because Lucas must be his disciple for become stronger. He "inherited" the body of someone who had the dream of becoming the strongest but all the choices he makes go against it and even his desire seems minimal since after having obtained the possibility of unlocking the empty element he has not tried in the least . Now with the clash with the so-called "Heroes" I hope he starts thinking only of himself and taking everything he can without following the cliche of "let's not ruin the hero's path". Unlike other MCs of other novels Aestrea is not "broken" mentally so this double version of itself good and bad sometimes for stupid reasons tends to diminish the vision of him. Having said that, I want to clarify that "2" can be more of a personal opinion than anything else as some may find themselves with his actions. Having said that, I wish the author good luck!
Already appreciating the other work of the author I knew that I would not be disappointed but what I found was unexpected. This novel is something else. The idea of multiple personalities and how their past lives affect the actions and events of the mc is truly intriguing. Even following the main plot that should be Ivan's thanks to the "Switches" needed in given moments, it seems to read different stories. Some interactions between his personalities and the rest of the characters are really fun (James and Cattleya above all) and in some moments I laughed more than necessary ...I can't wait to see how the mc will become if or when its personalities / powers come together and, above all, I can't wait to see the encounters between the different women of its lives: they all seem crazy.
I really can't understand the choice of this situation. Asher was reborn as someone who would do anything to pursue his goals but above all to protect the loved ones who helped him overcome the hatred that devoured him. People like merina, isola, nadia, ceti but also sabina , silvia and the others left to their fate just because rowena told him to do it. Truly the fall of a character
this novel has had very few flaws over time but the most awaited moment from the beginning has been totally ruined from my point of view. Leaving aside the fact that Asher will certainly fight even if exiled ... It would have been enough to tell her how her father tortured him in secret in the years when he was soulless or how she herself is the demon who killed his mother when he was human forcing him to become a hunter for revenge. Isola was there and Asher needed a word but no, let's both remain silent and increase a drama that would at least have been postponed to the end of the war.
The characterizations of the characters, their interactions as well as the surrounding environment are written really well. Each character has their own distinctive trait and I'm sure that going forward we will be able to dig even deeper into their stories. The world building is still lacking but some clues such as the monopoly of the kingdom, the oriental lineage in only one part of the world or even the underground cities show that ideas from that point of view are not lacking. Perhaps the only flaw at the moment is the slow progression of the MC because even if we are only on his 8th day in the new world in the novel we are at more than 170 chapters and he still hasn't unlocked his unique class. I hope he gets a big power up soon. For the rest, I recommend the work to all lovers of the Isekai genre in general because it gives me the impression that it will be a truly good story. Good luck author!
