No one can blame you for that. Thanks for giving it a chance nonetheless.
Turns out that people who grow up under a powerful propaganda machine in a country that has been at war for 100 years will likely believe what they have been told all of their lives. It's not an AU. The protag is not objectively right in his thoughts. His beliefs are formed by his culture and upbringing, and can be affected by the experiences he faces as the story progresses.
Tonight/Today, hopefully. Though it won't be a mega-huge chapter like some others. I'm at the point where I have no choice but to start doing shorter chapters if I want to avoid these long update time issues. Still, I'm hoping to put it out today and get it all back in motion.
Yes, the story is still being updated on FFN. There is no set schedule for update times. I'm hoping to update on FFN again before Thanksgiving.
You will now see this face for Xisheng for the rest of the story.
No, that was Han. Yue's betrothed.
Sorry, I'm not an artist and no one has ever drawn it as far as I know.
Soon(TM) Sorry, but the end of September and most of October has been very busy for me. The hurricane fucked up 10 days, then I had (and am having) a trip to another city for another 10 days, so it's been difficult to write the new chapter under those circumstances. But if I find some time on my current trip, I'll round off the next chapter and upload it on FFN.
