This is you story and you'll write it however you want as you should but let me point something out (the obvious); your story isn't moving forward at all or is doing so with an awfully uninteresting pace. I mean for the last 12 days (more that that I think), we have been stuck with Aemon butchering chickens to him having a conversation (unfinished) with his mother. That's damaging your reader base from the looks of it. But hey you do you and best of luck.

Will it be too much to wish that you go through with her death and at the same time wish that the plot won't go the cliche route of her death breaking him as death is as natural as life and 99.9999% people bears very effectively even the greatest of tragedies and comes out stronger and better.

WTF! You have actually released 17 chapters with plot and the remaining 10 are just to increase word count. It's your novel so I won't be nagging you but at least be honest with your readers.

What's the update schedule? It says 3 chapters per week but one has been released in the last 7-8 days.
