She probably attacked Acier then, because Acier had secluded herself in her private villa away from the center of the capital, and Vanica likely somehow got word that she was alone, so snuck into Clover to attack her then.

I'd say the elf tribe were like the old jews. Chosen and beloved by mana (god), connected to the Kabballah and Sefirot, corrupted by devils/demonic, led astray by the demonic, persecuted and wiped out from the Clover Kingdom (holy land), etc. etc. I don't know if Tabata meant that or not, though.
