This part has been seriously hard to read. Agreed that she is a willful spolit brat and obviously cruel like a lot of the people in this story. But in the end she is a 16yr old kid that has been manipulated since birth, doted on by father and brothers who showered her with affection and riches but who obviously knew very little about her or didn't really care. Seeing her deceived beaten and raped seems a bit much. would have been better to die
Well glad I got an fp for reading that. As of the free chapters a despicable Bully of an ML forces a marriage (or rather believes he has a bought a marriage) to an innocent (makes sure of that before marriage ) and then proceeds to bully her for the next chapters. She's a strong lass but hasn't many options. So far it looks like the FL will teach the ML manners and they'll live happily ever after. bleah. terrible trope. How to reform a rapist is not my idea of a good read
indeed a trivial spelling error that doesn't impede comprehension but totally ruins the mood 🤭
or step sister or step mother - depends on which paragraph you're reading. honestly is it the same character in Chinese? haven't they taught the AI translator to figure out the relationship yet? sigh
oh dear. This started out quite well. The usual obsessed and silent ML and the misfortunate FL meet and after very few chapters get married. All the initial misunderstandings are resolved super quickly and then it gets twee. He ravishes her and she has to submit. it's not rape, oh no, just never what a demure young lady could ever want - and obviously he is such a beast that he keeps at it till she faints then he cleans her up and they all sleep till the next day when it all starts all over again. there's a bit of family drama and money making in the background but to me it got very boring very fast.
so I am seriously wondering how come this book has so few reviews. this is a pretty good translation: there is an occasional his her lapse - but nothing that impedes the flow, there are too many lady Li s and lady Zhao but I reckon that has more to do with the fact that there are fewer surnames in general and the culture uses surnames a lot! Soooooo this story starts with two unrelated people falling into a book. they 'wake' as husband and wife with no cheat, just a hubby who was originally a brilliant scholar in ancient history and artifacts and a shrewd business woman plus some knowledge from the novel. There is no instant anything, no instant love story, no instant cash, no instant fame. just a slow rise to a better life, complicity and respect. There's a lot of cruelty and a lot of scheming in the background but generally (at least so far) none of the people in the family are involved. The story is fun, witty and really likeable. go spend your fps and coins on this feel good story - shoo!!
at last! One of the "thick" ones gets to shine!
oh if we're talking about swords and dragons and stuff 8 and 20 is about right. Though they'd also need to say thy and thou !
Seriously, it's the first chapter. getting genders right is imperative - if you think I'm going to spend money on my you're deluded. in 2 minutes there'll be 10 "raws anybody" under this.
not such a fantastic ghost tamer if she didn't get what's wrong with the nurse. I mean, we didn't see her and we all know it. hah
