There are alot of issues with your stories. The primary one i keep coming across in all your stories is knowledge characters should or shouldnt have at a specific time.

An example for a bastard sword from popular media is Jon Snow's Longclaw.

Diffrences between daggers, short swords and other swords is blade length. A short sword is anywhere from 12 to 24 inches. daggers and knives fall under 12 inches. Other swords tend to vary significantly and from my limited understand of claymores or great swords are they are more dtermined by weight and how weildy they are. I also dont know where a rapier would be listed in this but standard european longsword and bastard swords tend to be arming swords which is also what excalibur is often portraited as.

bastard swords are hand and a half swords. they are called bastards because they are between single and two handed swords.

It seems you're right. While I still hadn't/haven't heard the words use outside of Asian languages translated into English it doesn't explain why I had that wrong. Since I wrote that somewhere around 8 months ago, I do not remember the exact circumstances around it that thought process. I can only assume that I was tired and skimmed the definition for something that would confirm my bias when I was tired. Sorry for the misinformation.

I agree, that would work, but that was not what I was asking. I was asking the author if they had forgotten or decided to ignore the fact. Also adoption is not usually the first choice for men.

So is it supposed to be 10 million? because it reads like 100 billion with a missing zero in english because of the placement of the commas. In english commas are placed every third digit. The first three digits represent everything below 999, the second represents everything below 999,xxx. And so on and so forth going from hundreds, thousands, millions, billions, trillions, etc.

You need to throw in some quotation marks and what not through your story properly. I do not think you will get many good reviews without structuring your story properly. Separate actions, thoughts and dialogue at the very least where it is easily readable.
