I understand but what I mean to say is that, let's say protagonist and the some people present in the bus are 'A' and when they got transported in the otherworld, they met Mike and the other unnamed characters which are say 'B', what I am trying to say is that 'A' came to this world a bit later than 'B', not that much time but in that time Mike had killed a goblin infront of the 'B' guys.
