Well this is just idea that might help your creativity so take it with a pinch of salt 🤔... But by chance which country are they from originally ? Well there simple and easy way is to have a blood test done behind the scenes, since in the Shinobi world they have the ability to mess with people minds, but the most easiest way would be through the Mother as I'm sure. The father would of come with the daughter from time to visit her secret, when she was younger and secret letters and pictures would of been shown. You can also say after Kana was discovered by Pain he sent false information to them saying that the mother and son died at childbirth and blocked all secret letters after that with out Konon even knowing, so all this time the father and daughter thought they had died and that's why the daughter didn't look for them after the massacre. She thought she had been all alone after her father died, the last things owns is beside the letters is a torn photo of her mother which was a momento from her father. And the mother would have his letters to her with the other half of the photo with his picture on it, just to nail it in
