First of all , the marineford war was full of haki but the show doesnt show haki yet as haki was just introduced . Ace ofc know of haki and so does akainu . The level of ace fruit was below akainu , thats why akainu can pierce ace body. Plus do u think an admiral haki can be low level? As someone called an "admiral" their power level simply at the peak already but its just some limitation that held them back . For example armament haki , not all people can reach the level of garp as their talent have limitation . Also , in terms of observation , achieveinh future sight is hard af . Not all can achieve that . We can count the number of people that can use future sight. In conclusion , ace doesnt reach his full potential yet and their combat level wasnt up to par with akainu .
