My boy doesn’t look like he is suffering, if anything, you took it harder than him. beside…. termites? Really? Exposed to -20 degrees? And no, he isn’t ‘suffering’ for the sake of it. Boy appears in the middle of a snowstorm, barefooted, and you expect him to walk out unscathed? I only gave light to what normally would’ve happened. The ritual had no reason to help in that matter as well - Azura wants to see what he can accomplish on his own. Giving him legs would go against all her motive. I don’t want my characters to have plot armor - if something is going to shit, it really is going to shit. Without high stakes, in my opinion, a story can’t have depth. No free cookies. If him losing his legs stumped you that hard, then maybe this isn’t for you.

Next chapter is the conclusion to this Arc - just commenting here as a post note, but I edited all chapters so far that needed some of that polish. No major changes were done - just organized more, and corrected some errors; this just so that I may continue on to the second Arc without any regrets.

The character learns how to work around being maimed - which is what I think makes for a strong character, not to win everything, but to not stay down for long. I appreciate the review anyhow - not everything is for everyone. And you rated quite imparcially, might I add.
