There is a reason the world advances so fast in a few hundred years due to reason that will be revealed in the future(ahem- technology from beyond which also caused the solar system to collapse). The world experiences a split in political structure, one side being the normal humans in the Illuminati which enjoys freedom, the other side in an authoritarian Gattaca style environment. That is where the MC is coming from, a Gattaca style lab. He may have all the knowledge of the world even read fictions etc, but he was always living in a solitary environment, by himself before this. Sorry that the MC doesnt appear like normal humans in the beginning because that was his background. He would slowly adapt to life living and interacting with other humans.

He has a Neutronium fission reactor that produces energy which is stored in a battery that contains more energy than the reactor could produce at one time. When a huge amount of energy is required, the energy output from the reactor is not enough so it is drawn from the battery. Thanks for your question.

sorry to get you confused. 'I' is used for the MC throughout the book except when he is using an alter-ego or an incarnate. In those situation, I use the MC's name instead of 'I' as a hint that the person is an alter-ego or incarnate. Sorry if that confused you some more :(
