That's not a slave family. It's a feudalistic family and that was how it worked The Baronet paid fealty and wealth to king and to the Baron the Baron to the Viscount, the Viscount to the Count or (Earl), They to the Marquess the Marquis to the Duke the Duke to the King or Queen.

This one started off at a solid 5 stars. Then promptly dropped and continued to stay there like it was reveling in it. it kept jumping back and forth like it didn't know what form of sci fi it wanted to be.

Story is a bit easy to follow to the point that the last 500 or so chapters can be foretold in advance. Other than that the writings fun , the annoying chain villain young masters trope doesn't exist and the annoying oh my God they're courting death then faceslap trope is nonexistent so it's worth the time to read.
