What's there to be confused about this is a cultivation novel, it's not supposed to be scientific or logical. As long as it's entertaining and makes at least some sense who cares?
On the contrary, their bloodline would actually become stronger over time by assimilating the genes of talented cultivators through some sort of selective breeding process. They may also possess a technique that can purify their specific bloodline by using the non-clan-affiliated genes amassed in their bloodline to strengthen it further somehow 🤔
