Actually its still one of the few things that almost has none considering it can form a black hole and destroy multiple worlds given the right conditions.

Wings also probably has some good climbing ability as an ape im sure he can controll his decent easy enough

Wouldent help hes ahead of all other colony members evoulution wise and likly is the most evolved ant ever atm. Add the fact insects apperantly dont usually survive to this tier anyways and he is kinda forging his own path in new territory here

Yeah its a bit but 300 years in a lower population world isnt much if someones talented its not to suprising if someone improves or enhances any technology or skill so young in the grand scheme of things

Technically theirs other things they can buy their not forced to get that product.
