This guy was living protagonist life even before getting a system.

The story is very disappointing. Or maybe, I just expected too much. You constantly try to make your mc appear better than the original Cid, but your mc is just boring. While original Cid is the best part of Eminence in Shadow. And you either don't know much about solo leveling power systems. Or you can't use them in this story. It's all over the place. And the story is just plain Bad.

So the story is good. But you are progressing way too slowly. The problem with fanfics is that everyone is already familiar with the source material. So, there is a limit to how much I can enjoy or invest in the story knowing it's filler. I don't know how much of the story you have planned. I suggest you make your OCs interact with canon characters and canon events more. Having an OC story with non-canon events isn't good for a fanfic. Your writing quality is very good, so I read one of your original works. It is considerably better than this, in my opinion, because even if something that happened there were to be insignificant later it doesn't hinder my investment now. It's not the same with fanfics
