First it's following the plot of that other fic and then just changing the outcome, so why follow it at all when it's just going to be "oh I dropped it" "You clearly dropped it on purpose" It doesn't have any meaning at all other than showing that yes he is Hachiman, now this wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't already have an established act that can be used as He is Hachiman, that is his conversation with Horikita. So what's the use of adding that one.

That's why I feel off, the author is just trying to trash on that fic, hopefully it gained a unique plot to it's own, otherwise this'll be boring and disappointing.
