He never 'had to address them before. Besides, just because everything is 'favorable' from her perspective, doesn't mean he has an interest. Now that he has a girlfriend, he should most definitely address any advances and misconceptions. He started by shutting her and the rumor down. She chose to not believe it. These people are gaslighting her. He can't be responsible for someone else's feelings. He has not returned her advances ever.

I think he might be involved in the mysterious thing that happened to her. I think she subconsciously has been trained in "underworld" techniques of killing and defending herself.

I think other people know this about XM, but they value power and position over friendship and integrity. Plus the FL was still very young with a pre-planned life that she'd been living for years. Then those years of living, loving, and sacrificing are destroyed in 6 months.

It said in the 1st chapter that as long as it benefitted the man she loved, she didn't care who she hurt. Maybe she did some things to that woman who became the mistress. He should have made it clear that he didn't want her love and affection. Did he tell her this? Did she voluntarily lend gee power and influence to him? I will read on for clarity.

Funny how these men never remember the things the FL has done for them. I am curious, too as to how a janitor was able to "pull strings" to get her daughter that job. These male characters are supposed to be so smart, but they lose their minds over these scheming women. I mean he is wealthy. He should have a level of suspicion about gold-diggers and social climbers. It us such a huge character flaw, too. Also, who is engaged for 10 years?

The kids in these novels are too grown at a young age, yet the parents can't seem to stop interfering in their adult lives...ironic.

It's an interesting story so far, but please don't drag out the mystery of parentage too llong. It gets boring. Also the same with Anti's identity.
