Author, I don't mean to be rude, but you really need to learn how to be more concise. Half of this chapter was just the characters' dialogue/thoughts being repeated over and over again. It has the same feeling as those "tournament" arcs in cultivation novels that have ten chapters for a single fight.

I must applaud the author on their ability to keep adding useless dialogue that adds absolutely nothing to the story other than word count. And I must applaud them again on the fact that it's just the same stuff over and over again with only a slightly different wording.

It's obvious that this has nothing to do about the law. It has to do with whether the MC is a a piece of trash or not... But this story has a Dark MC tag so it doesn't matter.

I agree with your assessment. It kind of fell flat at the end and lost the emotional weight that was built up.
